Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Registered Nurse Full-time, 7pm-7am, 60 hours every two weeks
This is a 10-bed Blood & Bone Marrow Transplant (BBMT) unit. To provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing Blood & Bone Marrow Transplantation, the unit was designed with all private patient rooms. Additionally, the nurses on this unit provide care for inpatients requiring services from the Hematology/Oncology subspecialty. Admitting diagnoses include leukemia, brain tumors, neuroblastomas, solid organ malignancies, sickle cell disorders and other types of genetic blood disorders. In addition, adult stem cell and bone marrow donors will be cared for on this unit. Pediatric oncology nurse with 3 years experienced preferred Must be eligible for or have a Delaware nursing license BSN preferred
The Hematology/Oncology Clinic provides comprehensive outpatient services to children and families with hematological and oncological diagnoses, including patients pre- and post-stem cell transplant. We care for patients from birth through age 18. Services in the outpatient clinic and day therapy area include diagnostic workups; physical exams by physicians; phlebotomy; peripheral IV insertion; central line access and care; medication administration; chemotherapy administration; blood product administration; emergency care; lumbar punctures; pheresis services by the American Red Cross; autologous blood collections for pre-operative patients; pre-, post- and intra-sedation monitoring; and the initiation of the admission process to the hospital.
