"Boys" Day at East Lake YMCA in Atlanta!!
"Not My Son!" is a feeling that resonates with parents who are resolved to keeping their sons from falling through the educational cracks! It certainly became the battle cry of the Staffords that resulted in making history at a prestigious 150-year old post-secondary institution when their son became the youngest male student ever to attend Morehouse College at age 11!
This Saturday the "youngest kid at Morehouse" Stephen Stafford will co-host a free lunch and learn forum for male students at the East Lake YMCA in Atlanta, Georgia from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.!
Parents and male students will openly share thoughts, feelings and solutions on the following issues: Boys and the classroom...why a "mix-match!" How to begin preparing for future occupations NOW!! Reading - for the boys who hate it!! Why video games; ipods and other technology gadgets have a place in education! And much more...
Parents be sure to bring textbooks for free assistance in math homework!
Prodigy Mom, Michelle Brown-Stafford will... connect with parents and grandparents of male students through frank and honest dialogue about the problems affecting boys in the classroom (from elementary school to college) and provide educational resources to help in guiding their sons/grandsons to the lives they were destined to enjoy!
The gathering will be recorded and available on the site for the benefit of families who reside in other parts of the globe!
