:** Acceptance And Approval **:
(561 hits)
As We Consider Our Role In Loving One Another
Rather Than Judging One Another, We Need To
Remember There Is A Vast Difference Between
Acceptance And Approval.
We Are Not Mandated To Approve Of Wrong Behavior.
Jesus Did Not Approve Of The Adulterous Behavior Of
The Woman At The Well, But He Did Accept Her As One
Worthy Of His Love And Provision.
There Is Also A Distinction To Be Made Between
Compassion And Permissiveness.
To Feel Compassion For The Misdeeds Of Others
Need Not Imply That A Spirit Of Permissiveness Is
Eroding Our Standards.
It Simply Means That We Recognize The Worth Of
Others And Our Behavior Reflects A Caring,
Warm Receptivity To Them In Spite Of What They've
Done.
