President Barack Obama said Wednesday that if lawmakers can't reach a deal on raising the debt ceiling by the end of the week, they should consider canceling congressional vacations. CNN Breaking News Thursday, June 30, 2011 Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he's canceling July 4 recess for Senate to deal with the debt ceiling crisis. Lawmakers must raise the nation's $14.3 trillion debt ceiling by Aug. 2. Otherwise, the Treasury will run out of money to pay the nation's bills in full and on time. Republicans have demanded that any deal to raise the debt ceiling include deep spending cuts, but they have been reluctant to consider measures favored by Democrats that would increase revenue. >+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=

he had charts to better explain his points of view as he wanted to know why those on teh right were so up set and claiming it will be a tax hike for them to cut out $21 billion of substies from the 5 big oil companies when they would be making a $144 billion prophet?
These hearings were seen on C-Span and the senater from your state was Sen. (D) Bob Mondez...then it was Rand Paul and Rubiio from Fl. to speak...and all they had to say was why is our president not there as he is off raising campaign funds...no facts, no figures just the same ole emotioanl talking points...oh RAnd Paul did say they would raise the deb tlimit if the Constitution was changed...he never did say what part he wanted changed...but then I am willing to bet he will never say he can't get any thing done because the president is not there doing for those who voted for him to do because he will not, can not do it????? lol (smile)
ME, I HOPE THEY DON'T RAISE THE DEBT CEALING...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEN MAYBE SOMEONE WILL TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT IN TEH HELL ARE THEY THERE FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE EXCEPT GET RID OF SOCIAL SECURITY, HEALTH CARE AND KEEP WARS GOING?????????????

Me, "I" believe our president just did those on the right agreat big favor. When the right-wingers won the House they could not wait to vote for themselves 2 weeks in D.C. then a week home so they could talk to the voters on Obama care...but, now taht all of that has backed fired big time on them, the last place they want to be is at ome...a republican passed the gay marriaage bill in N.Y. , today a republican court judge backed up Obama care and please don't even look at the recalls in Wisconsin or our nuclear plants, homelessness and joblessness due to the weather...
AND THE LATEST CRY OF NATIN BUILDING IN AMERICA BY FIXING OUR INFRASTRUCTURE AND LOOK AT THE SHAPE OUR MILITAY CHILDREN SCHOOLS ARE IN AS THEY ARE FALLING APART!!!!!!!!!
