WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT CATERPILLARS ATTACKING MY PLANTS???? (2534 hits)
I love springtime, but am currently having problems with caterpillars attacking some of my plants and flowers in my front yard. My neighbor recommends wrapping aluminum foil around the pots and spraying the front yard with a mixture of Dawn dishwashing liquid and water will stop the damage but they just continue to eat away at my plants!!!
If there's anyone out there that knows what I can do to solve this problem please let me know because I am growing depressed from throwing my favorite plants in the trash...
Hi Butterfly! You know those caterpillars will be eventually butterflies?....
Solution: Go to your neighborhood garden store and request a jar of "Seven" dusting powder. That's the name of the product. Take it back to your plants and dust your plant leaves liberally. Seven also comes in a liquid form where you can spray on the leaves of your plants but liquid may not give much of a product as the dusting powder. However, be aware that a re-application of the powder may be necessary in case of rain.
How does your gardens grow? I'd really like to know..
Thank you all, I'm not much of a gardener but I've always had an affinity for buying potted flowers...I have recently learned how to grow my own vegetable garden, i'm getting really good at it, I have corn, tomatoes, and green peppers (smile)

Yes my beautiful Butterfly...if you are not afraid of them like my mother-in-law you can pick them off your self.lol
If you like an old southern remedy then put some flour on the s plants, the dew will wet it and the sun will dry the flour thus getting rid of the unwanted pests. (smile)
