The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is collecting donations to pay for the burial of the remains of babies who were killed after surviving abortions at a clinic in the city.
Abortionist Kermit Gosnell has been charged with the murders of seven babies, who prosecutors say were delivered alive and killed with scissors. According to the grand jury report, babies’ remains were “haphazardly stored throughout the clinic in bags, milk jugs, orange juice cartons and cat food containers. Some fetal remains were in a refrigerator, others were frozen.”
Cardinal Justin Rigali, the archbishop of Philadelphia, said: “We can’t undo the crimes or the horrendous acts, but we can make an effort to bury these children.
“Bottom line is, every human being has dignity as a child of God,” he told CNN.
Prosecutors said the remains will be released after the Gosnell trial and any appeals are completed. If donations exceed the funeral costs, McIntyre said, they will be used to help bury other infants whose parents are unable to afford a funeral.
