7 STEPS TO RECEIVING THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART BLOG SERIES #3 (536 hits)

When the Son of man shall come in all his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 33) And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34) Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Matthew 26:31, 33 and 34.
It has always been God’s plan for you to inherit His kingdom. While here on earth He wants you to experience kingdom promises, seek His kingdom and live the promises. It may not be as easy as talking, but it is very simple. Choose God and you choose life and the blessings of God that go with that life.
©You shall have the desires of your heart, as long as they are in line with the word of God, and His will for your life.
Step two to receiving the desires of your heart is to trust in the Lord.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed, Psalm 37:3.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding, Proverbs 3:5.
Trusting in the Lord means to lean on Him, depend on Him, rely on Him, it is a confident expectation that God will do what God has promised. You can’t trust in the Lord by simply saying you do; your lifestyle must reflect your faith in God. In other words when the storms of life come crashing against your house, do you run around aimlessly boarding up windows and doors; or do you stand in the midst of the storm? I ask this because trusting in God means that you believe His word which says: When thou passeth through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walketh through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee, Isaiah 43:2. Stand knowing that because God does not lie, you can totally depend on and expect Him to fulfill His word every time. As you seek the kingdom of God you will have to learn to completely trust in the absolute power and word of God. This is actually out of character for us humans, because we have the impression that if it needs to be fixed in our lives, we have to fix it. The reason this makes sense to us is because when God created Adam he gave him dominion over the earth; I believe that attitude has been passed down through the ages causing us to think we too can do this on our own. God gave Adam the privilege of naming animals and anything else he saw, and he had full reign in the garden. Well we are not Adam and although we have the authority given to us by God through His Spirit which lives in us – He has the final say! Trust God to give you the desires of your heart, desires He placed there before He placed you in your mother’s womb.

Whatever the circumstance or situation you may find yourself in, trusting in the Lord will alter the course. When we trust in God fully we allow Him to do what He does best – take care of what belongs to Him. Trusting in God is your only option! You do not have a choice if you want to receive the desires of your heart.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10.
In the book I would have you read and memorize specific scriptures as part of your exercise, however, here I am going to have you do part two which is list all the things you have trusted God to do. Things you have prayed for or thought about that you know He brought to pass. Maybe you prayed for a promotion and somehow you were chosen to move up in your company. You could have been sick with no chance of recovery and God healed you. Whatever you can think of, write it down even if it dates back to childhood. One of the key purposes of this exercise, which is covered more extensively in the book, is to strengthen your faith in God. When you recall instance after instance when God brought you through, you will be able to believe God for anything. You will find yourself saying to yourself, “If God brought me through that, He will bring me through this!” God is faithful and wants to give you the desires of your heart, will you let Him? I really enjoyed our time together this week and I look forward to seeing you back here next week as we move to step 2 to receiving the desires of your heart which is trust in the Lord.
