I once had to put food back, now I choose to put it back. (1164 hits)

I once had to put food back because we did not have enough to pay for the basic household needs, but God has brought relief...
As I sit here listening to one of our live calls, tears began to swell up into my eyes and I still get that sinking feeling of having to put it back. You see, I am the youngest of five boys and two girls. I was born very late in life, my Mom thought she was done adding to her family. Anyways, she is older and on welfare and trying to survive in the state of Florida. She received $32 per month plus what she could make baby sitting. She and I lived together until I was seventeen and she remarried.
She and I would go to the store and buy staples, daring not to add any extras because we would not have enough for a bag of Chicken feed. Mom raised Chickens so we could have eggs and meat.
We made it through and God has kept us and brought us a long way. We are affected by the present economy just like most but, we are able to have a grateful attitude and know that God will provide.
When we hear of programs that bless us, we cannot help but share it with others.
I have always wanted to stand in the grocery line behind someone who could not completely pay for their groceries and be a blessing. Just because I've been there and I know how it feels.
Well, with this program all of that is possible and more.
This is not for everyone.
However, it is for many.
Thanks for listening to my story,
Esther
