Thanks Sister Artis for being so brave to take the poll, because this is the beginning of door opening conversation in the Black community to address our thoughts surrounding the gay/lesbian phobia amongst us. By answering the question(s) as you have done, people can start to actually think about why they feel the way they do. Is it simply because of lack of exsposure to other gays/lesbians, the teaching that have been drilled in our heads from the Black church/religion, or is it just that we honestly don't have, or is it just hatred for a group of people? Whatever the answer(s) may be which in my opinion isn't about being right or wrong, but simply starting dialogue to examinie why we feel the way we do about the issue surrounding homos*xuality.

Jen... I think like racism, homos*xuality is a prejudice. It's that way... until one has to deal with it head on... especially with family. I have a family member is lesbian... That doesn't phase me one bit and her friend is just like my family... Homos*xuals are people... no different... than black folks, chinese folks, orientals, asians.... in the end... We all have to stand up and be held accountable for our sins.... and I bet you if there is a heaven above.... alot more Homos*xuals are going to make it through the pearly gates than some of these so called saints!

sis. Jen....Is this a big fat JOKE....HA HA HA HA
Almighty God seeks to destroy the homos*xuals. It is good that they come out of the closet so the target can be set on who needs the FIRE. They are a disgrace to our race and an abomination to humanity. The homos*xuals and gays should be rounded up and be allowed to live like the American Indians on a reservation away from normal society so that cannot infect others with their disgusting behavior.

Sister Cynthia, I also have homos*xuals / lesbians relatives and as a child they were viewed by me as human beings. I have a cousin who had a s*x change operation and told my older relatives his age that he but butter on his breasts to make them grow.
To this day, I don't know that was true or just a running joke among them. As a child, you tend to take people literally. Ha! Willamena could do some mean hair and makeup. Why do homos*xual men seem to know a whole lot more about fashion than women?
Brother Jamal,
[The homos*xuals and gays should be rounded up and be allowed to live like the American Indians on a reservation away from normal society so that cannot infect others with their disgusting behavior.]
What a strong statement you have made! Is there a personal experience or a reason you believe what you believe about the Gay Lesbian Bis*xual Transvestite community?

Sis. Jen....myself as well as most black Americans have some one in our family that is a homos*xual, gay, lesbian or the like. That has nothing to do with the views shared by me which is in accordance with the will of Allah (God). Nature has order and rules...those entities that break away from the order of things or natural rules are like weeds or parasites that feed on the natural. They must be separated from the normal less they jeopardize the whole. It is sad because some of my own extended family is subject but I am not in this for personal reasons only my love for the One God.

@Brother Jamal, If I'm not mistaken, you're saying that you don't have any bad experiences, lack of exposure to gay people, but your views are anchored in what you have been taught or learned from your religious world view? Alright I can't fault you for that, because I'm not here to judge you for what you believe. Does this mean that Gays, Lesbian, Bis*xuals, and Transvestite people are welcomed in Your Nation Building Project? Ha!

Sis. Jen ....Sodom and Gomarah is the example laid out for us speaking of God's views on Gays and Lesbians. Lot warned them all prior the God destroying them all....Even Lots own wife for sympathizing with the misfits. Same thing here..these are not my views but the views of the Almighty.
Who ever said I am superior ?...certainly not me....No more than David was superior or Noah was superior...what I bring is consistent with the Quran, Torah and Bible. A gay man is sick...off-base....confused....and they are in ALL families. Much like if you plan a garden and plant seeds....some of the plants will not grow right...so must be discarded.....the gay, lesbian, tranvestites and bis*xuals need to be discarded from our race. Thanks to these adnormals, now we have HIV/AIDS...a killer disease which another example to God's despise of these type of humans.

Cynthia....What You must take Abraham lightly in your holy books. If Abraham means nothing to you in the bible...then throw that Bible away. Abraham became the Father of many nations not says me but says God. Do you take almighty God as a Fool ? No, He is not. A Father of nations do not let the direlects like homes*xuals, gas, lesbians and transvestites infect his nation. That makes no DAMN sense. They are not welcome in the New World.....not one of them....even if they are in my own family.....ABSOLUTELY NOT......Almighty God Allah desires the new world to be a model kingdom in Africa for other countries to emulate and these infestations of human beings will not corrupt our new nation like they are infecting America.

Hello to All,
Jamal is very confused since he has many different things influencing him. He has his engineering career that has him believing his back to Africa movement is Black America’s permanent solution. He believes he is a direct descendent of Hebrew people Prophet Abraham through the genealogy of Ishmael. Jamal is a Black American who is a new breed or race of people that had emerged out of the ashes of slavery. He has the Bible, which is the Jewish people’s testimony to the world of how God has helped them in their times of trouble influencing him concerning Sodom and Gomorrah. He has the Quran, which is the Arabian people’s religious book of guidance given to them by their Prophet Mohammed.
However, what he has of his own that, God has given him is his brain, rationale and analytical thinking that he uses wrongly due to no fault of his own. Let me explain. He refers to lesbians and homos*xuals as weeds in the Black community as weeds are in a garden. The comparison he is making is skewed since homos*xual and lesbians are human beings born in an adverse condition due to no fault of their own. I have experience two infants born homos*xual. Consequentially, these infants had nothing to do causing their homos*xuality condition. Homos*xuality and lesbianism are mishaps of nature that a civilized society must humanely deal with and draw appropriate boundary lines. What I know for sure is that the boundary lines that Jamal suggests are inhumane.
Jamal is an extreme knucklehead.
The point that I am making is that homos*xuality and lesbianism are natural occurrences in humanity that must be and should be humanely dealt with, am I right. The simplest way to understand this mishap is that during development in the womb the homos*xual brain was wired wrongly by nature. In other words, instead of this person naturally being wired to be attracted to the opposite s*x his brain was wired to be attracted to the same s*x. The same as every now and then nature produces a left-handed person when this world is geared for a right-handed person. So, should we round up all left-handed people and put them on reservations so that they do not infect right-handed people, HOGWASH as Jamal said it.
Again, Jamal is an extreme knucklehead and I am working with him to bring him around.
Again, since Harry is a false prophet the best thing he can do is slander. There is no merit to his speech. His jealousy is obvious since he is poorly educated with an IQ of 62. What little Abraham offers is reason and qualification in all holy scripture. All Abraham based religions oppose freaky behavior. Gay, Lesbians, Homos are appaulling in the eyesight of God and I am very thankful of that. When I see a homos*xual it makes me almost want to vomit. But, I can convey my points without slandering anyone personally because that is not necessary as a professional engineer.

Hello Jamal,
I want to take this opportunity to show you how stupid you are. Let me explain.
This blog is not yours. Mrs. Jen initiated this blog. Notice that since you do not have the option to delete what I said as you would have deleted it on your blog you responded with your best mentality, which is what you should be doing on your own blog, knucklehead.
Anyway, you said this, “Gay, Lesbians, Homos are appaulling in the eyesight of God”
Is Sodom and Gomorrah your reasoning that you believe gay, lesbians and homos are appalling in God eyesight? Do you not think that your opinion is based on of the Hebrew people in the Old Testament how they saw things since the Bible is the Jewish people’s testimony? In other words, are you consumed by the Jewish people’s views that you have made their views your views as well? I know that is what you have done with the Arabian people. You have made the Arabian people views your views since you have accepted their customs, religion and Prophet Mohammed. Obviously, psychologically when you do something as of this you inadvertently making yourself inferior to the Jewish people and the Arabian people, am I right.
I have come to put a stop to this and pick you and all Black Americans off their faces and stomachs encouraging you to stand on your feet as a sovereign man would.
Harry, The devastation of Sodom an Gomorrah is mentioned in all Holy Scripture including Holy Quran, Bible and Torah. you need to read more and speak less

@ Brother Jamal,
Although I can appreciate your comments, I would say that more than likely your "solution" will never happen; however, I do thank you for clarifying your position or views being based on a religious world view.
@ Brother Harry, How would you answer the questions in the poll? 1. Should gay Americans have the legal right to adopt children?
2. Is there still social backlash for being friends with gay and lesbian people?
3. Do you believe that God loves homos*xuals?
4. Does your church welcome gays and lesbians?
5. Does the Black Church, as a whole, effectively addresses issues around homos*xuality?
6. Should gays and lesbians be allowed to be ordained ministers?
Jen.... lol.... I'll be back to read our beloved brother's response.... ha! ha!

Hello Jamal,
My questions to you are not about the devastation of Sodom and Gomorrah. It is not about the story written in Bible and Quran.
My question is whether your views on homos*xuality are your views based on ancient Hebrew people as recorded in the Bible. Or, are your views based on God telling you that God appalls homos*xuality?
Please answer my questions and not go wandering off answering questions I never asked.
FYI is it not civil and serene that you and I could have an adult dialogue on Ms. Jen’s blog since you do not have the option to delete what I say when you do not have the mentality to overcome?
@ Brother Harry, How would you answer the questions in the poll? 1. Should gay Americans have the legal right to adopt children? ANS. No. It takes away from the concept and balanced of how an infant should be raised. There is natural balance having a man and woman rather than having two men or two women.
2. Is there still social backlash for being friends with gay and lesbian people? ANS. Yes. Social backlashes are natural and expected since homos*xuality from the beginning is a mishap of nature. However, homos*xuals should not be abused or discriminated against because they are homos*xuals. They are also human beings and they should be treated as such.
3. Do you believe that God loves homos*xuals? ANS. Of course, God loves homos*xuals. God is responsible for creation and homos*xuals came out of creation.
4. Does your church welcome gays and lesbians? ANS. I do not have church. My inspiration from God does not allow me to join a church.
5. Does the Black Church, as a whole, effectively addresses issues around homos*xuality? ANS. Unequivocally no! The Black churches are more political than spiritual and loving.
6. Should gays and lesbians be allowed to be ordained ministers? ANS. Sure. They are not preaching what they are. Their intelligence, understanding and rationale are doing the preaching.
7. Do you agree that gay is the new Black? ANS. There have always been Black homos*xuals, so they are not new.
Sis. Jen....your #3 and #6 are clear distinctions between my divine Guidance from the One God and Harry's views.

I addressed this topic in my FROM DOWN LOW TO LOW DOWN blog way back. I still say in every relationship there must be an opposite. Two men or two women no matter what we play ourselves to be or believe ourselves in terms of our s*xual orientation we're not that, even if you fix the physical features you're still not that.
A man can't be a woman and a woman can't be a man. In biology, there is a dominant and a recessive. So the young man or woman who seem to be playing the role of the woman or man is only doing that (playing); because no matter how much he plays the role as the feminine aspect of the two, somebody has to play the role of dominate and the recessive. This again supports the principle of opposites. Because all relationships are built on opposites if you do not have opposites, there's no balance.
Now you can live with a person of the same s*x and get along real well, to the extent that you get along and may even raise/discipline children better than heteros*xual couples, it means on a mental level one has learn the art of relating to another human being. However that person is not the opposite of the original life force it's an image that plays a role, when you are the original you do not play a role.
We're all adults, and we're all capable of making our own decisions in terms of s*xual relationships. But my first preference is a brother. A strong, intelligent BROTHER!

@ Brother Clark, I thank you for your response and even your reviewing of your pastor's sermon/teaching on the subject. It really take a mature Christian person to sit under such teachings and be able to think rationally and make his/her mind up as an individual because in many churches you must accept the world view of the organization on a matter or you're in error.
@Brother Harry, Thanks for taking a moment to make your usual agenda (soverignty) secondary and answer opening and honestly the poll questions. You've given me another side /view of you ~~more compassionate view~~ as well as kind view of you (not that you weren't already before).
Can we count on you to allow the GLBT community into your sovereign country for Black people Unline Brother Jamal who feels they should be brutually destroyed by fire?

@ Sister Siebra, I can appreciate your comments and it appears that your views are based on a combination of science (anatomy/biology) and a religious world view. Just for the sake of the poll, how would you answer the follwing poll questions?
Wow Brother Clark~~ Your Pastor is not common, but then again you ren't either! Now are you? ((winking at you))

Here's my answers Sister Jen:
1. Should gay Americans have the legal right to adopt children? Depends on whether or not the couple is finacially stable, their methods of discipline and whether they can properly handle the responsibilities of raising a child. These same rules should apply to heteros*xual couples and single parent households as well.
2. Is there still social backlash for being friends with gay and lesbian people? No. I have a neighbor who is a self-professed lesbian and a Christian, but that doesn't stop me from being her friend in times of need.
3. Do you believe that God loves homos*xuals? No. I have read news stories of men living in Saudi Arabia as "gay muslims." However, according to the Qu'ran, homos*xuality is a sin. If a person still wants to date a member of the same s*x as them, then oh well, that's all on them. But it is not for a person who considers themselves a follower of Islam and a friend of Allah.
4. Does your church welcome gays and lesbians? I have never heard of such an activity taking place in the mosque, as this is not a question asked on the Nation Of Islam registration forms.
5. Does the Black Church, as a whole, effectively addresses issues around homos*xuality? No
6. Should gays and lesbians be allowed to be ordained ministers? Depends on the religious affiliation. But I know Islam does not permit this activity.
7. Do you agree that gay is the new Black? No. It's one thing to be homos*xual but to do so and not use any protection during times of intercourse. Putting themselves at risk for HIV/AIDS and other STDs.

Hello Jamal,
If you would read between the lines I believe Ms. Jen used the expression, ”brutal” because of how cruel and inhumane you are to a people whose condition is no fault of their own.
Harry, Fire and Brimstone was used by God to destroy the Gays and Homos during the days of Lot.....That seems fitting to me.
