Your Thoughts Re: Wayne Williams, the Atlanta Child Murderer? (2093 hits)

I was wondering how many people still believe that Wayne Williams is 'just another innocent' Black man 'railroaded/wrongfully convicted of crimes he didn't commit?

As a child in South Carolina when all this stuff was happening so close to me only a state away in Georgia, my family and neighbors were gripped with fear.

I remember having to come in the house long before the sun began to set during those scary times and being warned by my family what would happen if I was caught outside after hours... (a switching on the legs).

Soledad O'Brien dropped a bomb on Williams when she revealed material that Wayne Williams apparently wrote when he was younger about being recruited into a secret CIA initiative.

What of that look on Williams' face and his refusal to commit on the document?! If looks could kill, Soledad would have been another of his victims!

Infamous Murders - In Cold Blood - 03 - Atlanta Child Murders
From 1979 to 1981, as many as 31 black children were murdered in Atlanta, Georgia. The prime suspect was 23 year old, Wayne Williams.

@Jen...I still feel so much was overlooked in his investigation and it's strange the murders stopped after he was arrested as far as I can remember. Some of them I feel he could of done, then it appears there were others the took the rap for. He's surely a strange character from my way of precieving him.

@ Miisrael Did you see the CNN interview that Soledad O'Brien did? Well had you seen it, you would know that he's guilty as sin. He's the kind of person that you don't want to be alone in a room by yourself with. He's the kind of man that you don't want to fall in love with. He can lie without blinking his eyes or looking away from you when he knows he's just cheated with your best friend. He's a liar and a darn good one, but when O'Brien brought forth that "Bunker Buster" which he had written stating that he had special training... that sealed it for me.

@ Brother Clark

[I do believe Williams may have been a pawn of some sort. There have been others like this that we do know of, so its not far fetched to consider that Williams may have been part of some larger scheme.]

Ok although I don't buy conspiracy theories, but if this being the case in Williams' case then how is holding onto that kind of information helping him now? It sounds alot to me like the guys a paranoid schizophrenic and all this stuff is in his mind.

I wonder whether they did a psychiatric evaluation?

Be for real guys come to think about it, what sane Black man would be found out on the streets let alone on a bridge where people's bodies were being dumped knowing how the criminal justice system treats Black men???

Williams was on that bridge because he was the one throwing bodies into that river. Not only that he (Williams) is a cold blooded liar of a murderer and unless he repents, his soul will burn in hell when he dies.

The families of the 20 something other young children need justice and closure but they will not get it because their children's cases will never go to trial.

From the time that Wayne Williams was convicted, doubts arose about his guilt. Many black Atlantans felt that the government had manufactured the evidence just to get the case closed. While there are a number of issues in the government's case that are controversial, the fact is that the prosecutors, especially the FBI, believed that Williams was guilty.

Did the government play fair and square during the trial? No, but that does not seem to be unusual, because prosecution is about winning, not about justice or fairness in the abstract. The facts are that no one ever witnessed Wayne Williams killing or abducting anyone.

The most important evidence against him was highly technical fiber evidence that only experts could judge. Any jury presented with the huge amount of fiber evidence in the Williams case and the government's experts testifying to its veracity would be likely to give it credence.

Unfortunately, Wayne Williams was his own worst enemy. He never came up with a credible reason for being on the Jackson Parkway bridge in the early hours of the morning and his alibis were easily destroyed, but it didn't mean that he was guilty of murder.

check out the story.... I love this site....

"I" will say 'guilty until someone some way can get me to doubt that these killings stoped and it had nothing to do with this person being taken off of the public streets!!!! Not to mention those carpet fibers matches long before the CIS of today was even accepted in courts as it is today as a science.

MO, MO, MO, because a serial killer never changes their signature MO...they don't just wake up one day and say I will become a serial killer...it is like a craft taht they train and try by trial and error, but that signature MO is there in every case, from the first to the last...and, this is something that it seem all serial killers have in common...

In the Alanta child killings the only thing that changed was throwing the bodies into the water to try and get rid of the evidence...this is why that trace fibers were so major...they all had the same killing ground in common...remember that man who put those dead female bodies in the same area for over 20 years???...I think he was called the Green River killer...

the Night Stalker changed his style when Diane Fienstine gave out infomation about his MO she should neverf have done and cause it be much harder to stop the Night Stalker than it did...She learen this neglectful screw up of her taking advantage of her bing the mayor of San francisco...being mayor keep her out of jail but it distroyed her political ambitions to become governor of tis state and even as a politician for many years....

just trying to put emphsis on how important that signature mo is in catching a serial killer. (smile)
