Ludacris Subs for Regis to Promote New Female-Empowering Album (416 hits)
Posted by Anita Moore http://www.girl-friends.ning.com Ludacris hosted Regis and Kelly yesterday and he cooked with Martha Stewart and introduced his new cognac, today and I must say, the brotha is quite intelligent and funny. He held his own on these forums. Makes us African Americans look good because he's a brotha from the rap game who has evolved into a brotha with an agenda. Read a little about what he's up to and tell me what you think? PS: I received a tweet saying "Whats Luda doing on the Martha show. Thats like a Black Man being at a Klu Klux Klan meeting". I said to myself. How ignorant is that. Even though I feel Martha is prejudice or maybe ignorant of blacks and our issues, there's nothing stopping an intelligent black man from being on her show. What you think?
Chris "Ludacris" Bridges is back on the scene now having just released a new album, Battle of the s*xes. It's been a while since Luda returned to the music scene — he's been focusing on acting for the past few years with notable roles in Crash and Law & Order Special Victims Unit. And today, he co-hostedLive! With Regis & Kelly. With Battle of the s*xes, Luda takes it a step further, hoping toengage in "lyrical conversations about gender" with the female artists who guest on his tracks."Hip-hop is such a male-dominated industry," Ludacris told USA Today, "There's a female voice that's sometimes kind of missing." Different tracks deal with different areas of gender stereotypes; for example, "Hey Ho" with Lil Kim "addresses the double standards of promiscuity," and "Can't Live With You," which features his cousin Monica, portrays a couple in a rocky relationship. He's most inspired by the main female in his own life, his 8-year-old daughter Karma, who he refers to as his best friend.
Even though Ludacris has been flying under the radar for a few years, he's always been a multi-tasker, so this album release isn't a singular event. It coincides with the launch of the rapper's new cognac,Conjure. He's also been involved in many philanthropy projects through his Atlanta-based Ludacris Foundation. How awesome is that!
I think its good that he's evolving and maturing into bigger and better things. It looks like having a little girl is helping him to change his focus and be a role model for her. I like it. Kudos to Luda!!
