I LOVE THIS SONG BECAUSE IT HAS A MESSAGE IN IT. TIS THE SEASON TO BE JOLLY, HOW CAN I BE HAPPY WHEN I HAVE NOBODY. A SILENT NIGHT I KNOW IT'S GONNA BE JOY TO THE WORLD ,BUT IT'S GONNA BE SAD FOR ME. DO YOU KNOW THEY'RE A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THE WORLD THAT HAVE NO ONE TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS WITH. SOME PEOPLE HAVE LOST LOVED ONES, LOST THERE JOBS, HOUSES IN FORECLOSURES, ETC. ETC. TOMORROW I'LL BE FINISHING OFF MY CHRISTAMS DINNER AND ENJOYING THE COMPANY OF MY FAMILY AND A FEW FRIEND. JUST THINK SOMEBODY SOMEWHERE WILL NOT HAVE ANYONE TO SHARE THE JOY OF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON WITH. IF YOU KNOW A WIDOW OR ELDERLY PERSON IN YOUR COMMUNITY GO VISIT THEM OR BETTER YET INVITE THEM OVER. I'LL NEVER FORGET WHAT MY FATHER TAUGHT ME WHEN I WAS LITTLE, IT'S MORE BLESSING TO GIVE THAN IT IS TO RECEIVE. IN ALL YOUR GETTING, GIVE LOVE TO SOMEONE WHO MAY BE LONELY ON CHRISTMAS DAY. Amen Sister! I've had to scale back on Christmas this year also.I just don't have the money for decorations or gifts. I'm single with no children and my parents passed away many years ago so I don't buy Christmas presents. However I do send a few Christmas cards, (paper and eCards), make a few phone calls, and give the gifts of hugs, kisses, time, attention, prayer, faith and loyalty. I'm also Blessed to have my cat Sylvester, a warm home, food and a job to go to tomorrow so I am very much Fortunate.
Personally I do very much enjoy all the Christmas songs and carols. I have WQXR on now and they are playing nonstop Christmas music. Pretty cool. Christmas is what you make of it. Jesus probably never intended for all this hoopla but here it is worldwide and just because I've downsized the Holidays does not make it right for me to rain on everyone's parade. Happy Holidays! I can relate I am single with no children and at this time not dating anyone. It has just been a year of challenges. But I keep going with the goals I'm working on. Yesterday I gave by donation to kids at a church function that I dont belong to but an organization I was involved in.
