How To Move On With Only Memories & Debt? (1074 hits)

So you've given yourself until there is nothing more left to give. You didn't care for yourself or provide for this time in your own life because you were hoping it would never come or you just had time and you would get around to it. You know first things first so you thought. You felt your family was more important and you did not want to be selfish. You would not insist on an insurance policy that was sufficient enough to provide for you and your remaining family so you did not push the issue. Since your loved one suffered from a terminal illness and could not get life insurance at that time you surely was not going to insist on starting a home business or invest in anything that would bring in support for you because you are the invincible caregiver. You will survive. You will make it happen no matter what. It doesn't matter that you are grieving, older, a mountain of bills, and other family members who still depend upon you for care giving, you got this and you are ok.
Wake-up call
You are not ok, but you can be. You can make it if you collect yourself and rediscover yourself and get going on your mission. You can make it even though you are scared and this is a new chapter in your life and you have not written the ending yet.
Now it's a faith walk for sure. There is no one to fall back on and most of your family and friends are ready for you to move on. They are tired of hearing about your situation and are starting to avoid you. When someone do get the courage to ask you how are you doing, you find the strength to say "great" and you speak it from heart as in saying; I'm moving on.
You start to think to yourself, I've got this- I've been in though places before. Maybe, but this is a place like no other. You've suffered a loss of your soul mate, your spouse, your best friend, and sometimes the father of you kids all in one package. He was protector and provider for his family.
We take laughter, conversation, disagreements, presence, sharing, touching and just life for granted I think.
Yet, we all agree that we must somehow go on. So how do we do that. First, we must find our passion. What is it that beyond all else we would do if we could. Then we write out our mission statement so we can focus on our target and goals. We then see if we have the necessary provisions or a vehicle to provide the funds for us to complete our passion. Lastly, we want to see how can this help others.
Thank you for letting me share as I heal.
