TICK TOCK! IF YOU'VE EVER BEEN THROUGH SOMETHING IN LIFE, CHECK THIS OUT! (405 hits)

Hey is this mike on, check one, check two! Gotta be me or I'mma die! Sitting on my bed just checked the time, ump, it's only 9:03 pm and I got all night to right this, because I don't have to hit the clock in the morning. Umm, well where do I start, oh I know, let me tell y'all about me at the age of 18, don't want to go back to far back in time. Too many bad memories. Rape and malestation was my childhood, mind if I call those folks sick dogs? Yes, I'm saved, but I have issues that God is still working on. Don't feel sorry for me, God had nothing to do with it, yet time kept ticking (tick tock, tick tock).

Oh yeah, back to time. I remember when I was 18 and all the brothers would try to holla at me, made my head swell, time kept on ticking. Fell for this fine honey, next thing I know I'm at Morgan State (supposed to be getting an education) pregnant and lost. Had to make a decision (tick tock) to keep the baby or about it. Couldn't go through the abortion, now she is 22 years old, a graduate with honors and getting ready to graduate from her masters program. What a blessing! Made that sound a little to easy, missed the part about me being homeless, sleeping on someone's back porch, getting up Monday through Friday, looking good and going to two jobs before the night was over. Had to support my baby (tick tock), her father took the easy road, drugs and booze was what he decided to chase after. While his first child and her mother ran the other way for help and food. Yeah my sisters, let the clock tick on!

All I knew was work and school, to see me now makes my life look like gold, but you didn't see the rags. I'm that sista that you see everyday, use to run after the bus, now I'm beating the bus to my next destination. Afterwork I'm press to get home to open that garage door and see my 17 year old. Yeah, I accidently skipped that birth (tick tock, you see how time waits for Nobody?). Got smart the next time around didn't mess with a brother who didn't have nothing, ump, needed some pampers and the baby sitters out here ain't cheap! Yeah, like I said, the next brother had a little something. I had known this brother since I was 18 years old, in the 12th grade. Man he was and still is fine, but he ain't marriage material. He's one of those cool brothers that got a little something, but can't hold a relationship, too scared is what he is. Okay, tick tock, let me back up a little. I met the brother and thought that he was fine, but they were coming my way a dime a dozen, so I was not tripping. I would tell him that I was going to meet up with him or got out with him or come over, hang the phone up and laugh. I was a young girl, what did one expect. I was mature enough to know that he wanted my goodies and that was not happening. All he could get from me was phone time and s*x was not the topic, or at least I would try not to make it the conversation for the night. I must say the boy was determined!

Years past, I had my daughter, got my own place and BAM! Lonely came knocking at my door! Here I was lonely, broken relationship from my daughters father (thank God it was over). I thought that brother was going to kill me with those timberland boots (another story). I had a beautiful place (in the ghetto), a wonderful day job and a ugh, clean up job at night. Financially, I was getting on my feet, waiting on the next move. Companies started hearing about me through my counselor at WSS and they wanted me bad! I had made myself a profitable young talented and black woman. Life was looking up. People in my neighborhood respected me, I never got robbed.

I was being blessed by the best, no more porches for me and no more folks taking advantage of my situation. See, I was paying this chic over $200 to sleep on her porch, before I was blessed with my first place. My daughter was staying over my cousins and I would get her on Fridays and take her over to her God mothers, I would spend all my free time with her and that's how I ended up in the ghetto, trying to be with my baby every night before she closed her eyes to sleep. Tick tock!

I'm tired, need to catch up on Tyler Perry Shows before I go to sleep tonight, so this is a to be continued story. TICK TOCK!

I love y'all, please keep praying for me, I may be living comfortable now, but I'm still keeping it real ! Tick tock!
