You live in a town that has racially mixed. Your husband is the chief of police. He has a deputy who is African American. He is a person whose wants to do the most he can to get drugs off the streets and ensure they do not make it to their destination. He makes traffic stops, he arrest those with drugs, others for money laundering and a host of things.
He has an affair why a white woman in this town. She is not actually your purest, most ladilike person and has the kind of reputation that no mother would want her son to be with. He dumps her as she is not what he thought she would be. People in town warned him about her! Her did not listen. Then her mother (city council person) due to this officer dumping her daughter starts to make the law enforcement personnel in this city's life hell. She tries to disband the police department! (this may sound like a joke - it is not) She and her husband go on a rampage to discredit many people, start rumors about others in town and then go to their country club and spread more rumors. Then people are still being arrested and tried for their crimes. She begains to search these people out to file complaints against the officers.
The end: The local media picks up the complaints that are charged as racial profileing of African American males on Hwy 59 coming or going to Houston (which is a known drug corridor) and it is a story picked up by CNN, and several of your syndicated black talk shows. (CNN was in town last week) And they are taling about coming to this small town to protest. The articles indicates African Americans driving thru Tenana, Texas are ramdonly stopped for being black, that their possession are taken, etc. These articles are on several blogging sites.
They never mention the people arresting people are also black. So, it has been blown all out of porpotion because a brother decided he did not want to be with a white woman. I have been dumped, my mother never interferred! Then you find this woman's daughter has a personal on Yahoo Personals looking for black men, she has gone thru most of the ones in this county!
To know the truth and not be able to let people know how the first story got out there is a shame, so I ask Image this happening in your town, and the inflaming descirptions of the horror leave out the biggest piece of information. African American officers are doing there job, those officers are black and it just so happen most of the people they have arrested have been also been African American. Image this, how should I feel? (excuse misspelling - today, we were expecting Al Sharpton's group to protest here - however now have shown up) Thankfully -
Oh my. I would think you feel terrible seeing that you've been betrayed on so many levels. Have you appealed to Sharpton personally? have you shown that people of other races are also arrested? By not mentioning the name of the woman who had an affair with your husband, are you protecting him? He is not in a position to protect you, so what are you doing to protect yourself? I do hope that you will not be tarnished by this mess, but at least you are getting part of the story out. You can be strong and expose the rest of the story....but that won't help your town's reputation. Good luck and take care of you.
