The April Write Challenge Year 2 (82 hits)

The April Write Challenge 2009 - Year 2.

In 2008, I had an idea to bring together writers and poets to celebrate National Poetry Month. This year I'm doing it again.

What is The April Write Challenge (AWC)?

In essence, it is a mass poetic collaboration which lasts the whole month of April. It is a writing challenge which encourages you to practice writing every day by contributing a piece of original work you are the author or creator of and have come up with in response to something you have read or seen within the AWC blog.

Whatever your discipline, I want the AWC to feel like a creative home away from home for you, where even if you don't contribute, you are free to come and read and soak up the vibes. You may even find that the AWC helps you through a tough period in your life by giving you something else to focus on or it can help you get out of a writers block.

This year I didn't want to impose any rules, but instead, merely a set of guidelines because I want the AWC to be a place where creativity and inspiration reigns and people can come to connect and positively influence each other in honour of National Poetry Month.

April Write Challenge Guidelines

EVERYONE is welcome.

You can be a poet, a writer, singer, rapper, photographer, artist or just someone who has something positive and interesting to say.

You can participate everyday in April in the AWC by posting a poem, rap, song lyric, artwork or photographs of which you are the creative owner. So please do not post anything which you did not do.

Usually I will set a topic for which I’d like you to respond to, but if you have an idea in mind send me a message and I will reserve a day in April for you and your topic.

A’ Free Verse’ day is where you can post whatever topic you like and others can choose to follow the topic of any post that day or change it.

There will be a new blog posted for each day in April, so don’t worry if you missed a day, you can add it later.

Please respect each person’s right to creatively express themselves, and any racial, political or derogatory posts will be removed.

Above all…. Rise to the challenge… make new friends… ENJOY YOURSELF & HAVE FUN !!!

Thank you for reading.

Please visit www.angee.co.uk and www.angeeedgar.com to see what's happening in the two AWC's I'm hosting. We're at Day 3 and already the creative response is amazing!

Have a look and tell me what you think below.
