The Peace that Surpasses... (201 hits)

With the economy at its lowest and the unemployment rate at an all time high, many are wondering whether "peace" is an afterthought. Many people are faced with foreclosures, unpaid utilities and possible bankruptcy, and the lack of sleep over financial strain continues to surmount. To not worry at a time like this would be almost insane or would it?

In Philippians 4, the apostle Paul encourages us to be anxious for nothing, but rather be prayerful about eveything. Paul understood that if we choose to pray rather than worry, our faith account would increase; thus, permitting God to move limitlessly on our behalf. As believers we must begin to understand that no matter what happens, God remains sovereign and is in COMPLETE control.

Paul assured us that if we prayed the prayer of faith with thanksgiving, peace would be sure to follow. Not a subtle peace, but a peace that surpasses the understanding of our natural minds. We must always be aware that our attitudes will determine our altitude in any situation or circumstance. With this said, we must also realize our faith will determine our fate. God wants us to rest in Him and bask in His peace.

So no matter how grim the outcome seems and no matter how fearful the present state, we serve a God who can never lie; and is well able to do exceeding, abundantly above ALL we could EVER ask or think, according to the power at work in us. So I encourage you to do away with the anxiety and embrace the peace that surpasses...through faith-filled prayers of thanksgiving.

In His Grace,
Chanell
