My job is registering students for public school. Each employee is assigned a grade level to register students. In the state of Louisiana the age of consent is 17, so a student can register themselves if they desire. I have been doing so since 2002.
This week a 19-year old brother had came to me 3 days in a row because he did not possess all the vital records (social security card, last report card, proof of residence) needed for school registration. He was standing up and had on baggy pants so low below his waist, and God knows I didn't want to look, but I couldn't help looking.
So as he handed me his documentation, he thanked me for helping him get back in school after he dropped out for a year. I pulled him to the side and said, "You are a handsome brother, and I don't doubt that the clothes you wear are nice; but with all due respect, if you're going to wear your pants below your waist, the least thing you could do is change your underwear. You had on the same underwear for 3 days now. And don't tell me they are not the same underwear because you wear plaid for 3 days."
Needless to say he had to laugh with me. And the SISTERS are not immune to this rule either.
this reminds me of one day in class this female was telling the professor about her and her "OWN' identity. When she had finished the professor then asked her why did she and the person sitting next to her have on the same color jeans and sneakers in his class as proof of her individuality...
I admit that it took her longer than it did the rest of us in class to get his point to her being on her high horse about this matter of not coping from others how she wanted to appear as an INDIVIDUAL while at the same time looking the same as anyone else.
Sister, please continue to teach our young men the powers of how others see them for real which can not be the same image they are trying to give out of their self-esteem,self-worth because it is phoney/objectable to the public at large.
