Today was a day of reflection and contemplation for me. All too often we as women allow our worth to be minimized by the men we think we love. We do absolutely everything for them and stay strong for them when they need us most. Then the time comes when we need a post to lean on. Life and its tribulations cause us to need more than just our legs to stand on. Unfortunately, I've seen so many women who need a post occasionally and they cannot find it in their men. As a strong black woman myself, I tell you it does not make you weak to succumb to life pressures once in a while. It does not make you weak to give your 100% in a relationship while you are in it. It makes you strong. Strength is the ability to pick up the pieces when we know that we've been let down, but we will not remain down. I refuse to allow my past experiences to leave me in a state of regret and confusion. I do not regret. I appreciate all past experiences. I will cherish the good times and learn from the bad. Honestly I believe that if you are true to you, then no one can change that. Its time we allow ourselves to be appreciated for who we are. Not trying to please others or allow the superficial moments to get the best of us. I know I am 100% woman, and that is because I am true to me, I am willing to learn from mistakes and I am happy with the person I have chosen to be.
