I am always talking about the human condition. What it is like to be human. What makes us fall and stumble and somehow rise and go on from darkness into darkness?

We, as vicegerents to Allah (God), are created to face and overcome difficulties. The Holy Qur'an teaches that Allah tries us at least once a year severely, i.e. through loss of life, loss of property, diminution of fruit; but we are told to give good news to those who believe and remain steadfast under trial. We go through trials, by Allah's active or permissive will, to strengthen our faith in Him (Allah, God).
It is during those trials that we learn alot about ourselves and how connected or disconnected we are to Allah (God). It is also during those times that Allah(God) is pulling on us to reconnect with Him, showing us that it is only through Him, with Him, and by Him that we will overcome whatever we are faced with.
Allah puts us in the fires of life and takes us out. He puts us back in and takes us out. Why? Because trials, like fire, are purifiers. Fire destroys whatever is in its path, but offtimes it doesn't destroy the foundation or root of whatever once occupied that space. After the debris has been removed and the area has been cleaned, then you can begin to rebuild on that land, unless the ground has been completely demolished. But if you can rebuild, you don't build the old, you look to build something new, something better. So it is when you go through trials and difficulties.
When you go through trials, it is painful; but pain is a purifier like fire. Your faith in Allah ( God) is like water that you use to put out the fire, before it gets too out of control. As long as we keep our faith and strive to live according to His Divine Will, whatever we go through we can overcome, by His permission, through our faith in Him. We have to be found working, because faith without work is dead. As we go through each trial, we become stronger spiritually, mentally, morally, emotionally, and economically. We also have to be found studying and examining ourselves and the situations that occur duing the trial, i.e. tracing our steps to uncover the basis of the situation we find ourselves in so that if we ever find ourselves in that situation or one similar we have that experience to help guide us through it. Also, if it ever comes back you recognize it and know the consequences of going down that path.
