Job Description
The Associate Director, Finance Integration is responsible for leading and overseeing the integration of R&D business development activities, ensuring operational readiness and smooth systems integration from day one. Key responsibilities include driving process improvements for BD integration, coordinating cross-functional teams to maintain continuity post-acquisition, and managing the assimilation of new entities into AbbVies R&D operating model and SAP systems. The position also develops workplans and data assets, monitors integration costs and performance metrics, and communicates progress to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities include oversight and lead the following activities:
Lead and oversee the integration of R&D BD activities, ensuring day one operational readiness and seamless systems integration.
Streamline and simplify BD integration processes, identify critical pain points, and drive solutions for smoother transitions.
Coordinate and guide cross-functional teams to execute integration activities efficiently and ensure business process continuity post-acquisition, including daily financial operations and system workflows.
Oversee assimilation of new entities into the AbbVie Operating Model for R&D, including their incorporation into SAP and alignment with business processes.
Develop and manage comprehensive workplans, master data assets, personnel and contractor mapping, and SAP roles to facilitate successful integration.
Monitor, analyze, and report on integration costs, realized synergies, and key performance metrics.
Assist in shaping capital requirements and securing funding to support integration.
Deliver regular progress updates and insights to senior leadership.
Execute ad hoc projects based on strategic priorities.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree: Finance or Accounting
7-10 years overall business experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical environment
Ability to analyze complex data sets and develop clear conclusions and recommendations regarding business opportunities and challenges
Firm understanding of AbbVies financial policies (CFMs), US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), as well as PTP policies and processes is a plus
Demonstrated ability to network/partner effectively across functional areas and with varying levels of management
Exhibit influence over project teams/groups without direct authority
Proven ability to design and manage multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic environment within given timelines
Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and presentation skills
