Job Description
I/E Technician - Marshall, MN I/E Technician - Marshall, MN This is a full-time, hourly position.
Job Summary Under limited supervision, diagnoses panel malfunctions, set ups, calibrates, replaces, or repairs a variety of electrical or electronic monitoring equipment such as flow meters, control valves, PH monitors, and pressure or level transmitters.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain a thorough knowledge of production processes, equipment and operations in the
interest of repairing electronic monitoring or control devices.
Diagnose problems, repairs, and replaces control panels, valves, and monitoring devices as
needed.
Set up and calibrate a wide variety of complex control devices used to monitor production
processes.
Troubleshoot when issues occur with motor control circuits.
Build or modify equipment such as alarms, timers, and related devices to insure the efficient
operation of production department processes.
Utilize manuals, publications, and files as required to address problems efficiently.
Confer with mechanical and electrical personnel in identifying mechanical or electronic
problems with process equipment.
May participate in the installation of new or modified equipment, insuring that electronic
equipment is operating effectively.
Recommend the purchases of supplies and materials to department lead or others as needed
as appropriate.
Run conduit and perform rewiring as needed.
Document time spent and parts used on projects by completing time records through the use of
Maximo.
Maintain documentation of wire locations within J-Boxes.
Follow and complete schedule of assigned tasks and projects.
Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment, and successfully
completes all safety certification requirements.
May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Post-Secondary electrical or instrumentation education (preferred)
Valid Driver's License (required)
Basic DCS Experience
Complete all required safety training also follow and display knowledge of all safety procedures.
Have general understanding of how to use a computer and email.
Communicate effectively through speech and writing along with other mediums such as email.
Must stay motivated and show initiative to complete tasks under limited supervision.
Display quality work through strong attention to detail.
Work with a team orientation by coordinating efforts with colleagues to complete tasks
effectively.
Work overtime as necessary.
Meet requests of supervision including but not limited to the essential functions listed.
Utilize trucks, forklifts, computers, hand tools, testing equipment, JLG lifts, wiring, rigging, and
other tools or equipment correctly.
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in extreme temperatures
Ability to lift fifty pounds routinely, climb stairs and ladders, and work at high elevation
