BAE Systems is hiring a Human Resources Director who will support a collection of our C-Suite executives and their functional teams. The position is based in Falls Church, VA and will require in office presence at least three days per week. In this role, the Human Resources Director is responsible for strategizing, planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of HR Management, including the implementation of key activities related to succession planning, talent management, benefits, compensation, performance management, and high potential assessment and development.
This role will own the HR strategy for a subset of the headquarter functions, identifying solutions and tackling the most pressing talent opportunities and challenges at a strategic level, successfully partnering with functional leaders to create value for the business. This role is pivotal to ensuring the organization's ability to create an inclusive culture, accelerate development for our employees, build people leader capability, forecast and develop our critical skills roadmap and implement solutions that result in a strong retention for our talent.
This role also has responsibility to serve as the People & Culture partner for our HQ teams, serving as an expert consultant and trusted advisor to key stakeholders, including senior business and HR leaders.
This is an on-site role and the selected candidate is expected to be on-site at least 3-4 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a coach, strategic advisor and business partner to the sector senior leadership
Identify and develop key talent to grow the business, build current and future capability, and achieve long-term business success
Build relationships with business leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution
Execute HR strategies to progress the ESS People Strategy and deliver value to the business
Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to increase alignment with the strategy by helping business leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes.
Diagnose gaps between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gaps, including organization redesign, process change, coaching and training
Analyze workforce trends to model and forecast future labor requirements to support senior leaders in workforce planning and succession management.
Align performance management and reward strategies to reinforce an environment of dedication and innovation
Coach senior leaders to improve leadership abilities, relationships among teams/individuals and interpersonal communications, as well as deliver effective performance feedback.
Partner closely with sector Human Resources colleagues and leadership, as well as colleagues in the Centers of Expertise (COEs) and others across the company
Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to foster trust and influence key decisions
Influence leaders to action and understand business strategies
Translate strategies into an executable plan that will help Sector leadership address key human capital needs that are directly related to the successful delivery of business outcomes and performance
Serve as a project manager, including strategizing, planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of Human Resources
Serve as a creative problem solver; formulate recommendations using data to clearly demonstrate the value of the solution
Must be results oriented and resilient, delivering consistent results while exhibiting behaviors in line with our ESS culture
Provide strong people leadership by serving as a direct supervisor to HR manager
Intentionally guide, support, and leverage leaders to drive execution of strategic People & Culture-related efforts
Lead efforts to support people leaders achievement of the Impactful Leader Objective
Leverage data to determine belonging-focused learning needs and plans, including measurement of efforts and outcomes
Leverage data to determine employee development needs and strategically identify talent for participation in programs, opportunities, and career support offerings
Raise awareness about holistic well-being and resilience practices and provide support with respect to embedding them within team norms
Leverage data, insights, and themes from surveys and other feedback collection efforts to recommend and support leader action plans to improve the employee experience
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typically, a bachelors degree and 12 years of experience, or Masters and 10 years experience or a PhD with 8 years experience or 14 years experience with an associates degree or 16+ years experience with a High school diploma.
Experience in Human Resources Management/Leadership
Experience in Strategic HR development and execution
Experience in Human Resources including inclusive culture, succession planning, talent management, benefits, compensation, performance management, etc.
Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy as well as deep knowledge of HR policies, processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management) and talent management practices
Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy and develop clear, actionable steps in support of the overall business strategy
Ability to synthesize large quantities of quantitative and qualitative data, recognize trends, tie back to business priorities and develop recommendations based on data analysis
Experience in Program/Project Management
Experience in People Management/Leadership

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
