Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Project Analyst to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter who can quickly come up to speed and work collaboratively with staff, peers, leadership, and customers to successfully deliver major programs. The position facilitates program execution by effectively communicating timely information, drafting reports, and providing project health insights to all stakeholders, so excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required. The Senior Project Analyst reports to the Program Engagement Manager, and supports the shared leadership of a large program (a Program Engineer and a Technical Program Manager).

Key responsibilities of the Senior Project Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Analysis
    • Collect and analyze project data (e.g., timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and performance metrics) from various sources.
    • Identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
    • Generate reports and visualizations to present insights to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Project Planning and Monitoring
    • Assist in developing detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor project progress against the plan, identifying potential deviations and risks.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates on project status.
  • Risk Management
    • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential project risks.
    • Assist in developing mitigation strategies to address identified risks.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Facilitate project meetings and document action items.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverable deadlines are met.
    • Effectively communicate project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement
    • Analyze project management processes and identify areas for optimization.
    • Recommend improvements to project management methodologies and tools.
    • Identify and lead initiatives to develop automation of processes and reporting.
  • Documentation
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
    • Develop and update project knowledge databases.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • 4+ years of experience as a project analyst or similar role
  • Experience supporting projects of varying size and scope
  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and draw meaningful conclusions
  • Proficiency with using MS Office tools to effectively present data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, and critical path analysis


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • PMP or CAPM certification
  • Experience using Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence
  • Familiarity with the USN SSP SWS


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
