Family Service Consultant- Las Vegas
Position Overview:
Provide in-home intervention to children and families using a skill-based, solution-focused model. Help families adopt positive solutions to challenges through teaching skills, behavioral techniques, and connecting them to community resources and support.
Major Responsibilities & Duties:
▪️Deliver intervention services for In-Home Family Services (IHFS).
▪️Build and maintain strong relationships with families and community resources, including medical professionals, social services, law enforcement, schools, and other organizations.
▪️Conduct screenings and assessments to determine program eligibility and identify service plan goals.
▪️Train and support families in developing functional skills and positive behaviors.
▪️Assess family needs, monitor progress toward goals, and update service plans regularly.
▪️Provide outreach and prevention services, including community education and awareness programs.
▪️Maintain required direct contact with families and remain available 24/7 for crisis intervention.
▪️Train school personnel and others on managing challenging behaviors.
▪️Promote family self-determination by connecting them to community services and resources.
▪️Educate families on physical health, preventive care, and medical needs.
▪️Support families in utilizing spiritual and cultural strengths to achieve goals.
▪️Model professionalism and respect in all interactions.
▪️Travel to family homes and other locations; use personal vehicle for work-related travel and authorized youth transportation.
▪️Complete administrative tasks, including reports, service plans, and documentation in a timely manner.
▪️Ensure compliance with all program, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
▪️Implement supervisor feedback and report any changes in professional status (e.g., driving record, insurance).
▪️May become certified as a Common Sense Parenting Instructor and conduct courses as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements Qualifications:
▪️Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field required.
▪️Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with children and families in a social service or behavioral health setting preferred.
▪️Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and proof of auto insurance required.
▪️Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and be available for crisis intervention.
▪️Must pass background checks and meet all state and organizational requirements for working with children and families.
