Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor of Environmental and Sustainability Studies Position Description:
The Environmental and Sustainability Studies Program invites applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor position to begin in August 2026. Candidates must have completed all requirements for a graduate degree in a social sciences discipline by August 16, 2026, with a Ph.D. preferred. We are most interested in attracting an interdisciplinary scholar with expertise in environmental economics and environmental policy and/or environmental law and a strong commitment to student-centered teaching. Experience teaching interdisciplinary courses is preferred. The successful candidate will teach four course sections per semester. Courses include a 200-level introductory course in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and a masters-level course in Environmental Economics. Additional courses will be assigned based on the candidate’s expertise, with opportunities to offer courses at the undergraduate and graduate level in Environmental and Sustainability Studies as well as courses in our Honors College and First-Year Experience Program.
