The Role
Presidio Technician is an entry-level position within an IT department, serving as foundational support for an organization's IT infrastructure. This role will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory of computer systems, hardware, software, and networks within an organization. Technicians work under the supervision of more experienced administrators or engineers, assisting with day-to-day tasks and gaining hands-on experience.

Travel Requirements: You will be expected to travel up to 75% throughout the US.

Responsibilities include: 

• Support: General support, troubleshooting and incident response


• Cable Management: Assisting with the organization and labeling of network cables in server rooms and wiring closets.


• Installation and Setup: Assemble, install, and configure new computer systems, peripherals (printers, scanners, monitors), and network devices (routers, switches).


• Procedure Documentation: Helping to create or update documentation for hardware inventory.


• Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems (Windows, macOS) and various software applications, including business-specific programs.     

Required Skills and Professional Experience 

• Associates degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.


• Overall <1-3 years of experience in computer repair or networking.


• Only applicants residing in Charlotte Ballantyne and nearby areas will be considered.

Technical Skills:

• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.


• Familiarity with common network protocols (HTTP, FTP, SSH, RDP).


• Knowledge of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points).


• Knowledge of computer hardware.


• Knowledge of Windows OS and installation procedures.

 Soft Skills:

• Problem-Solving: Eagerness to diagnose and resolve technical issues.


• Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for interacting with users and team members.


• Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in following procedures and documenting work.


• Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other IT professionals.


• Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to acquire new knowledge and skills in networking.
