BARGAINING UNIT/NON-UNIT, CLASSIFICATION (If Applicable): Non-Unit

ANTICIPATED START DATE: Monday December 8, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.

SALARY RANGE: $75,000 to $80,000 commensurate with education and experience

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Director of Compliance & Equity / Title IX Coordinator serves as a key leader within the Office of Institutional Mission, Culture, and Climate (IMCC), responsible for ensuring institutional compliance with a wide range of civil rights laws and regulations, including Title IX, the Commonwealth Board of Higher Education's Policy on Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity, and Diversity (PAA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Section 504, and Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act. As the College's Affirmative Action Officer and Title IX Coordinator, this position provides expert guidance, technical assistance, and oversight in the interpretation and application of these laws and policies.

This role leads the confidential investigation and resolution of discrimination, harassment, and equal opportunity complaints involving students, employees, and campus guests, and ensures appropriate documentation and reporting in accordance with applicable laws, executive orders, and institutional policies. The Director also works closely with Human Resources and other departments to support appropriate accommodations, recommend corrective actions, and ensure fair and equitable processes.

In partnership with campus stakeholders, the Director develops and delivers impactful training and educational programming to build awareness of rights and responsibilities under equity-related policies and to advance the College's commitment to Inclusive Excellence. A key advocate for the IMCC Office, the Director promotes a culture of belonging by cultivating inclusive, respectful environments where individuals of diverse identities and lived experiences feel seen, valued, and supported.

This position plays a critical role in institutional equity and strategic planning efforts, conducts audits and policy reviews, coordinates campus climate assessments, and serves on key committees such as the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT). Cross-departmental collaboration and continuous professional learning are essential aspects of this leadership role.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate, provide technical assistance and consultation with the statutory and regulatory requirements of Title IX, AA/EO, and ADA/Section 504.
  • Serve as the Affirmative Action Officer for the College.
  • Meets directly with covered individuals seeking to exercise their rights under the PAA and applicable laws.
  • Receive, investigate and resolve complaints regarding discrimination, Equal Education and Equal Employment Opportunity, and harassment, including Title IX complaints, involving students, faculty, staff and others protected under state and federal laws and regulations and/or the PAA, in compliance with state and federal laws, executive orders, collective bargaining agreements and College policies and procedures.
    • Additionally, provide oversight of investigations led by outside parties.
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the college, as needed, with respect to complaint referral, investigation, resolution and accommodations.
  • Coordinates with Human Resources when corrective action is recommended.
  • Provide information, assistance and protective measures to reporting and responding persons and other individuals involved, including their rights under the PAA and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review, analyze and conduct internal audits of processes and systems at the College related to Title IX and equity compliance.
  • Develop, review and update operations and procedures, recommend policies and develop and implement new strategies and procedures.
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver training on the PAA, discrimination, bias, and harassment prevention and their relationship to the Colleges' policies and practices.
    • Prepare and distribute Title IX and other equity-based educational materials.
  • Organize and maintain the Colleges' files regarding complaints, disposition reports and other records regarding PAA, Title IX, EO and ADA compliance.
    • Serve as custodian and supervise custody of all records for reporting purposes and safeguard their confidentiality.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of the annual assessments of campus climate with regard to sexual harassment and sexual violence.
  • Serve on applicable teams and college committees.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and professional development opportunities regarding Title IX, EO and ADA. Keep abreast of current state and federal laws and trends regarding Title IX and Affirmative Action.
  • Promote a sense of belonging and intergroup solidarity by cultivating inclusive environments where students and employees from diverse social identities, lived experiences, and backgrounds build coalitions and find community.
  • Direct the development and implementation of impactful training and educational resources that promote Inclusive Excellence, foster a sense of belonging, and deepen social awareness across the campus community.
  • Contribute to institutional change by supporting strategic planning efforts led by the VP of IMCC and advancing campus-wide equity and belonging goals, to include;
    • Collaborate with key campus partners to illuminate the voices, stories and perspectives of students.
    • Serve as a core member of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), bringing an equity-focused lens to early intervention and student-and employee-support practices.
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements:
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Master's, or advanced degree in human resources, student development, higher education administration, J.D., or other relevant discipline or Bachelor's degree with an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • At least three (3) years of professional experience in the areas of Title IX, Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity or ADA compliance.
  • Experience administering Title IX and handling discrimination and harassment investigations and complaint resolution.
  • Experience developing and conducting trainings.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with diplomacy and excellent judgment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Title IX, AA and ADA compliance.
  • Experience interpreting federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to Title IX, AA, EO and ADA.
  • Experience providing institution-wide training on laws, policies and procedures.
  • Higher Education experience.
  • Certification or formal training in Peer Education, Social Justice and/or Racial Justice Education, Coalition Building, or related areas.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency

BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check as a condition of employment.
