JOB TITLE:                                  Crisis Therapist


EMPLOYMENT TYPE:                Fee For Service, 4-8 Hours/Shift


SCHEDULED HOURS:                Flexible, Weekends & Holidays 6am-10pm


PROGRAM/SITE LOCATION:   Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Service (EMPS), Manchester, CT


*Agency vehicles are available for use*


ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Service (EMPS)


EMPS provides crisis telephone triage & support, mobile crisis assessment and intervention in the school, home, court and other community settings. EMPS supports children & families in times of emotional, behavioral, and situational stress. EMPS focuses on prevention and early intervention, stabilization and diversion from hospitalization.

Duties & Responsibilities



  •  Provides crisis assessment and follow up to monitor status of clients in crisis.

  •  Documents ongoing client progress and outcomes

  •  Demonstrates competency in age related or specialty issues and developmental needs for each
    population served.

  •  Works with clients to develop appropriate discharge plans utilizing natural supports.

  •  Maintains collaborative relationships with family members and other service providers

  •  Performs home and community based care.

  •  Responsible for Maintaining Client and Staff Records According to Agency Policy

  •  Participates in weekly supervision and meetings to review client and program progress.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Education: Master’s Degree or higher in mental health field


Experience: Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience as a psychotherapist working with people with mental illness and/or serious emotional disorders. Demonstrated training and experience in all aspects of mental health treatment, assessment, evaluation and provision of individual, group and family therapy.


Licensure/Certification/Registration: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, eligible. Licensed preferred.

COMPENSATION*:           


 $30/hour for associate licensure and $35/hour independent licensure.


*Our per diem and fee for service positions offer a flat hourly rate.
