When I was midway through Seminary, my wife and I moved away from campus for a year. Not wanting to suspend my studies, I marched up to the "Distance Learning" offices and walked out with several course packs. I loved the idea of listening to lectures at my convenience. This is going to be even better than attending classes, I thought. This will be easy!
It wasn't. At least for me. I procrastinated, and as the deadlines approached, I'd be forced to listen to an entire term of lectures in the space of a couple days. I need a classroom setting to absorb material and excel—but that's just me. Some of my friends loved distance learning and earned entire degrees that way. It's different for everyone.
"Back to School." presents several different approaches to pursuing further education. You'll meet a handful of mid-career leaders who opted for different paths to complete their education. If one of your New Year's resolutions is to start or finish that degree, you'll definitely want to check this out.
