California Gay Marriage Ban Overturned
A federal judge Wednesday struck down a California ban on same-s*x marriages as unconstitutional, according to reports.
The ruling by Judge Vaughn R. Walker of Federal District Court in San Francisco represents an important victory for gay rights advocates in a case that many believe may end up eventually going to the United States Supreme Court.

Absolutely agree with you on this point. The GLBT community has been treated poorly for so long and they are tired of the "crap" from the Evangelicals, Catholics, and the nay sayers in general. The GLBT community are human beings and although we may or may not agree with their lifestyles it doesn't give anyone the right to be hateful or mean spirited towards them.
It's just a matter of time before this fight that they are having will be an after thought in all of our memories just like the Civil Rights Movement has become to some of us (of course not your memory Sister Irma).

Elana Kagan has been confirmed and I'm sure this fight for our brothers and sisters in the GLBT community will soon come to an end if brought before the Supreme Court of the Nation.
I'm not sure what you mean by the other stuff Sister Irma, but I respect your views both political and religious. I'm for one accepting of all people. I think the world would be a much better place if we could all love and respect others. Just my two cent's worth.

Now to the untold story ...As some one who lives in Ca. and we tend to get news coverage every step of the way about what is really behind this law and its main problems are...
1. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW OF THE LAND TO SINGLE OUT ANY GROUP OR ,ECTIN THIS WAY . IS BY LAW CALLED DISCRIMINATION / ANTI-JIM CROW...BVBOE...CONSTITUTION...14TH AMENDMENT AND SO ON AND SO FORTH.
2. tHE MORMAN CHURCH IS STILL IN HOT WATER FOR CROSSING STATE LINES TO INTERFERE WITH THE VOTING RIGHTS IN THE STATE OF CA. BECAUSE THEY PAID FOR THOSE ADSAGAINST GAY MARRIAGES . THOSE IN BACK OF THIS NAMES ARE BEING PRINTED AND THIS IS ALSO IN THE COURTS IF THIS IS LEGAL TO CALL THESE PEOPLE OUT BY NAME AS THEY ARE RELIGIOUS LEADERS!!! YOU KNOW THE PRIVACY LAWS V THE FIRST AMENDMENT.
...AND, THE BEAT GOES ON BESIDES, "IT IS THE ECONOMY STUPID" AS THAT SAYING GOES AND THESE MARRIAGES AS WELL AS MARIJUANA BRINGS IN A LOT OF JOBS AND INCOME TO THIS STATE....OR JUST A REALITY CHECK THAT WE DON'T SEE WITH THE MEDIA MANIPULATING THE NEWS LIKE THIS... LOL (SMILE)
