Duke Lacrosse Rape Accuser releases memoir (940 hits)
Wow. Remember the Duke Lacrosse rape case? A young woman who is black accused three white Duke Lacross players of gang raping her at a party a few years ago? Witnesses did hear the men call her the "N" word and tell her her "grandfather made his cotton shirt", and other epithets meant to demean her after she refused to dance for the lacrosse players when the party got too rowdy. The young woman then said she went back inside the house to get her purse and said she was gang raped by the men.
Well the Lacross players were exonerated of all rape charges a year or two ago and now the young woman has written a book about the case claiming that her story is true.
The attorney/DA representing the case and the young woman was disbarred for mishandling the case and other issues concerning the media.
I don't know what to say. I believed her story from the beginning. What kind of black woman would lie and say she was raped by three white young men -- and with such disgusting detail?
I don't know what to think about this case or the motivation behind her writing the book. One of the players has threatened to sue the young woman over the memoir.
I honestly don't know what to make of the young lady's story & I usually have plenty to say. I feel sorry for her & for the lawyer who was disbarred. I don't know why he was disbarred over one case. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I see. Why would the lawyer speak before evidence was in? Perhaps these men are guilty, but because of ineffective counsel this woman hasn't received justice. I don't like attorneys that much and if I ever need one, I'll be sure that he knows his job. My heart goes out to the sister if in fact the men did this horrible thing. I agree that white males especially in the south have exercised caution when interacting with us because of the slavery/rape issues of the past. People where I lived would literally stop and stare at you if they saw a white man with a black woman. LoL
I have had to passed up at least 3 relationships like this when I lived in South Carolina.
