Lawyers for Obama helping Ex-Felons, voter Protection. (450 hits)
Last evening I attended Volunteer Lawyers for Obama. As usual , you never know what to expect in an Obama supporter meeting. 230 lawyers, 85% white, male, there on their own time to ensure that no hanky panky goes on Election Day.
A lot of information in 2 hours, pertaining to New Jersey. Firstly, the purpose of this meeting was to assist any Democratic voter, who is challenged, or denied the right to vote. NO MATTER what the cirmcumstances. The reason they are lawyers is because if an issue comes up,they will make an application to the local court (vicinage)within hours of the incident. Through a network of cell phones, blackberries, and ask for a judicial ruling!! No one who has this knowledge then should be denied their right. Even though I explain about ex-felons, ANYONE challenged can reach out to these VOTER PROTECTION workers.
On Ex-Felons: the law in New Jersey says,if you have been purged, from the voter rolls , because you had registered once upon a time, if you are NOT on PROBATION or PAROLE you could have re-registered to vote. If you knew this, then you did, if you didn't well, there it is, not knowing can be very detrimental.
Each ex-felon must look up the law in their state,and make it known. Why keep the information to yourself? Take the info to the local NAACP, the Ministers, the Community based organization and half-way houses. Each one teach one.
THIS IS NOT FOR NEW JERSEY ONLY!! THIS IS AN ORGANIZED CAMPAIGN STRUCTURED EVERYWHERE, its objective? that NO Obama voter is denied the right to vote. !! McCain's campaign is no where near this type of organization. The Obama campaign is precise and my little $15.00 donation has gone to good use.
His campaign is highly organized and I commend everyone that is responsible in making this historical journey happen for the future of America !
