I am looking for a new church home. Any advice?? (1947 hits)

Well, since we moved to the NE, I have been on a journey. I have been visiting churches and had narrowed my decision down to three of them, as of Saturday. I revisited one yesterday and boy was it cold, in more ways than one. I expected smiles, a warm hello, a warm welcome, but I got nothing. Yes, the Pastor did preach the word. I am sure most of you will say that should be the only reason I attended. My response would be, no, not really. Like on a previously blog regarding watching church on TV, one who chooses to attend church not only attends for the word, but most likely for the fellowship as well. I could have stayed at home and watched TV. I did not go to this church expecting to make new friends. However, when I select a church, I base it on many things, most important, are they preaching the word, another, are the members friendly, warm and good spirited. I had visited this church before and liked it. Maybe they are only extra friendly on the first visit. I want to feel welcomed and I did not feel that way yesterday. It was very dissapointing. Well, they did help me out somewhat. I now have only two to choose from. Posted By:
