MEET ONE OF MY GREAT INSPIRATIONS. A GREAT CIVIL RIGHTS PIONEER / BOMBING IN BIRMINGHAM (538 hits)
PLEASE MEET REV.CROSS Briefly >if you have heard the story of the 4 little girls bombed in Birmingham in the 60's meet the Minister who fought for civil rights and voting rights. He stepped away from the pulpit for a second and the next few seconds will impact your life as it did his. we will blog this article before it hits our next issue because of the interview played on the TOM JOYNER MORNING SHOW WITH R&B ARTIST JOE. (mind you this is one of my favorite artist) he was explaining why he is not a registered voter. his excuse was that he traveled a lot and he was too busy and if Tom pressured him enough he would consider it. I still like Joe as a person and his music but i pray somehow via internet or publication he could spend time with my friend Rev. Cross , who spent 4 hrs pulling the four girls bodies apart in the basement of his church. To see the pain and the story's this man tells about how his entire family had to sleep on the floor every night because of the klann and lynchings, i did not want to speak out of turn because i was just in awe. most people don't know Coretta and Martin luther king spent their honeymoon in the funeral home because motels would not allow them to lodge there. We have so much more than our parents had we also get to pick and choose our arguments but our grandparents and ancestors had little choice. what i ask is that you share this article when its online especially to those who don't think their vote matters. This man has humbled me just like my actual father did before his passing in 2000 , he was my hero also. Pray for rev. cross he has a brain disease and his only remembrance is the 60's he only ask his daughter about lunch or dinner . She does a great job of care giving for her father. I promised her that as long as i publish or do any media portions of his life and legacy will be online and in our publications. FOR ALL THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE TIME TO VOTE PLEASE VOTE FOR MEDGER EVERS, FREDRICK DOUGLAS , MLK ,ETC. we could drive our lexus and range rovers to the poll they walked through hell so we could have the right to do it. we will upload portions of our days spent with this great man next week. thank you for your patience in reading and your time.
