Let me start this blog and my thoughts by bringing to the forefront Wyclef Jean.
Let' s not talk about Black Americans for a moment. Now before you wonder from where do I get my information from, let me share that let me see 1,2,3,4 5 of my 7 grandchilden are parented by a Haitian. No further comment from me.
The province of" Gonaives" was just devastated by Hedda or Hannah you know the hurricane which hit the west coast of Haiti. Watching these human beings who live in agonizing conditions..getting cut by barbed wire..as they bumrushed the United Nations peacekeepers food trucks..really upset me.
You see for one, the Haitians portrayed looked very beaten. Back pedal about 30 years. The Haitians that I met before the "boat people" were very much the artesans; educated. light skinned, they attended private schools, spoke French, and a few "Creole" the patois of the common folk-- and went to Paris at least once in their lifetime.
They haven't gone away, they are still there. Living in the lap of luxury. The infamous pyramid..the lighter ones at the top. Haiti if I recall claimed their independence in 1805 --the First free Black Nation. Jean-Claude Duvalier, and his son moved to Paris, where the beautiful Marie Duvalier lives without a care in the world..
Multi-millionaires on the backs of the poor.. Wyclef goes to Haiti with Matt Damon..he is "devastated" by the site..he went there to help distribute food donated by the United Nations..did he go in his pocket? NO..because he couldn't get a tax write off...meanwhile he is lamenting that the United States should do something..really??
Hey Wyclef..you and your lovely wife the designer..should have held a fundraiser and asked all 17 rappers to gift $5,000.00. Let' see that 17 times 5=$85,000.00 or less, even $50,000 would build houses, buy food and clothe a whole lot of people in Haiti!!
Here is my query why are we always asking " Mister Father Whiteman" to help us?
A Rolex watch costs $100,000.00. What's the problem? Love your own..just sayin'

Unbelievable. Why wouldn't he (Wyclef) want to give monetarily to his own people? Seems odd to me.

Oh Jen, Jen..my sweet ..I first I though you were being your funny sometimes sarcastic muse..did you miss the line ? NO Tax write off??? It's all about the money and there ain't nothing funny..haven't you noticed a lack of real generosity when it comes to philanthropy with our people?? I think we took that ask and you shall receive thing too far..God said in prayer of HIM , not your neighbor..your neighbor (that be us :-) are supposed to give without being asked..

The " cause" is off American soil..the tax laws for an American donating money outside of the country do not give him a tax write off. It's not in the tax code you have to spend the money HERE..why do you think that offshore bank accounts came under attack? :-) & why would the nosey anthropologist know this? because I said I was leaving the country if Obama has the election stolen from him..and I have begun to do my research. As a consequence I ran across this 8 months ago. Isn't the internet wonderful? Please don't feel sorry for Wyclef..his momma lives in the next town from me in Plainfield, New Jersey and $5,000.00 dollars is like me asking you to donate $20.00, now let me ask you something ? so how many people do you personally know, that have donated to Obama's campaign. While I am at it, how many Haitian "L'eglise Mon Dieu" have donated to their own country?? the point is clearly one of lack of active participation in our destiny as a collective. In order for Wyclef or anyone to get a write off for whatever reason he would have to have made the donation to the United Nations fund. The storm hit suddenly and he probably hasn't to this moment figured it out..but he has a foundation. Some people don't "get it" if they see us helping each other out others would be more inclined to help us without griping and calling us names..n'est ce-pas? yay...I get to practice my Francais.

Guess what ? I sent Edwards an e-mail in 2002 ..I wanted to work on his campaign, I was ignored...but I still liked him until he cheated on his mother ..I mean his wife..gosh ,gee. guess what white people do..they find the dime and send it..$5.00 is fine. Point set point. Wait aminute how is it as a Black man once told me Black people have money for what they want but not for what they need..what's really going on?....I sent you a p-mail.ok..so I don't know how to say take me with you!!but I will call one of my many Frenchies around me...
