How do you know when a pastor/minister is truly a man of God? (440 hits)
I noticed there are a lot of christians on this site. I need your feedback. We often talk about getting a man of God, or how wonderful our pastor is, etc. Let me tell you, I once dated a "so-called man of God." I have personal experience. I said I wanted a church man and I got one. This man knew the Bible from the beginning to the end, he could quote scripture like no tomorrow. He memorized them. Well, he turned out being the biggest devil of them all. He was more evil than the guys I dated who did not attend church every week. This man was a minister. Without going into detail, all I can say is it was a horrible experience and it made me more skeptical of so-called christian men. Another example: I have someone in my family who is married to a minister. She too is a minister. They have two children together. Well, that christian man/minister ran off with another woman in the church, leaving her without a car (she lost it) and her house in foreclosure. Please do not take this wrong. I truly believe in God and my faith is not hindered. I am just not so sure about the advice on meeting a man of God. Where is the proof that he is a good man. I feel that one should not rush into anything. Take your time. Get to know the man, get to know his family, observe the relationship he has with his mother and children if he has any. What has he done to make a different in this world. What has he done to help others. What are his goals, where is his heart. How true is he to himself and to you. Just my own personal opinion, I mean no disrespect. Your input is welcomed.
I say get a credit check, criminal back ground check, health physical with complete blood work up, and last of all a Lie detector test. I trust in God but all others I check out. Ask my husband, he'll tell you! He is a real man of God now.

Vanest, because there are a lot of christians and religious people on this site, one has to choose their words carefully as not to offend anyone. I disagree with them (not All) because I know at this time where, why and how we the majority have been misled. First off, a "Man Of God", is just like any other man. they're men first, (flesh and God).A combination of both. Meaning their Forms are of the flesh and their spirits are Suppose to be about God.When you come to know the spirit of people, You will begin to Reconize the true spirit of others around you . Like any other it's a practice, but soon you begin to develope the ALL Seeing Eye. Here, I'll give you a small degree of what I'm saying here. One of the gifts God gives women (especially women with children ),is the development of a keen sence of Instinct. She can tell when they are in trouble, begin to know their thoughts, she can even hear through walls. That development, that they received through the Gift of their children, they can utilize in everyday life as they connect with other humans. So when certain Red Lights go off in your head about someone (and they always do, like a bell), that's a sure signal. It works everytime and is a way of Knowing. All we had to ever do is learn how to listen to ourselves. But most of us can never control the Other voice. That's the process of contructive thinking. Or... when you are conscious that you are thinking, then you can control your thoughts. And eventually you will become your own guide through the journey of life. Isn't it amazing how people can quote the bible (reference), all day long ? But do they live by the words? A lot of them don't.....What's wrong with this picture ? These are suppose to be Divine words that obviously they didn't respect enough. Don't worry God has a place for them too. Peace.
