Media IS persuading and and influencing perception. Obama is being perceived as a 1. Muslim 2. not a citizen 3. unpatriotic 4. elitist,(in other words better than other Black Americans) and on..there are NOT 18 million twitters customers.
As far as someone stating losing a primary but winning the popular vote..has forgotten or is not aware that Gore, won the popular vote, the voting machines were rigged, (google) black boxes, he lost a Presidency and the Supreme Court struck down a re-count because they knew it would cause a revolution. What is being said here, is give her a break because she is woman. NOPE. Gore who lost the Presidency, not the primary wasn't boo-hooing, and asking for sympathy, nor did his supporters, become revengeful. Since when has any other losing candidate been "pissed."? You enter politics and you deal with it. So if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. All this application of the word "humaness" seem to be gender specific, in other words, the poor dear, had a philandering husband, and we need to give her a break. NOPE. or we should not antagonize her any further, why? she might turn into a witch? I cannot imagine anyone having this discussion about a male. This indicates that a lot of women who were only hanging on to her --hoped for victory vicarioulsy..forget our personal needs. I know that a lot of women are mothers, and I can say there is not an ounce of mother/compassion in this woman, since we cannot separate the woman from,the politician then this lack of compassion has to be factored into this equation. Women who love themselves do not see a mirror in Ms.Clinton, white women do because she looks like them, she thinks like them and she walks and talks like them. She does not sound mainstream at all. The glass ceiling would become a blurred frosted glass as white women would have surged forward in business and corporate, because 1. they network, 2. they support one cause. 3.they have a them versus us mentality. 4. and they will help their own first,and frankly, why not? She is not what she appears to be, and their racist remarks regarding Obama,including mocking his primary school essay on wanting to be President someday is proof positive of her insensitivity to children. Not only that it was a cheap shot. I see Obama , as a representing my husband, my brothers, cousins,uncles,grand-father..so just like the hegemonic culture sees themselves mirrored in their leaders, I see myself as an educated woman mirrored in this man of a so called exotic background. Imagine that, Hawaii is part of the United States of America. Hillary does not mirror anything about me unless we were both attending the play "The ****** Monologues" The Obie Award winner-by Eve Ensler, wherein through V-Day created by the Playwright $50 million dollars has been raised to stem violence against women, and Hillary has nothing to do with that.
