In retrospect to that someone who has never been present in my life, I come to recognize that person as being the true me, and what caused my confusion of wondering if it’s possible to miss that someone; is my convivial spirit pleading for me to find it…not be recessive towards nurturing its growth, and to not ignore the truth that I am beautiful. By continuing to shade the truths of our conditions, we also make it impossible for anyone in the form of true care; to respond appropriately to what remedy of friendship our problems deserves attention. So I do my best everyday to except my faults, my convictions, and my life as being my life, because who do I rather be but me? A man who opens doors for women…securing the insecurities of the black woman; yet, to the understanding that she is awesome…single; in carrying and raising her children, but never alone. I’m just trying to be the best that a man could be; in that, I’m just being myself.- Mario A. Vernon
I agree with you Mario! be who you are because God would not want you to be any less than what he created you to be. I have so many lessons just from this alone I wish someone would have told me that six years ago. But you live and learn and it is so important that young adults and teenagers understand they are beautiful beyond looks, beyonds education, but what God created you to look, to act, and to contribute to this world is all that should be the focus! its not about changing the way you are essentially but getting closer to what God intended you to be. Growing in the gifts he has already bestowed upon you ;-D it took nearly all my life up to this point to learn that.
