Are wigs better for your hair than weaves? (1748 hits)
I have long thick hair. My mother always says she would give anything to have hair like mind. However, there are times when my hair can be a burden. I am thankful for the healthy hair God has blessed me with. It is just that I cannot always keep it looking as good as it does when I first leave my hairdresser. In emergency situations, I will throw on a wig. I worry that maybe the wigs will damage my hair in the long run. I have tried weaves. When I go to get a weave I ALWAYS hear "what is wrong with you, your hair is beautiful, why do you feel you need a weave?" I need your feedback, PLEASE!
I get into my wig phases when I just feel like rocking different wigs for the look. I condition my hair and scalp at night and braid it. It is advise that you wear a cap under the wig. I've always had thick hair as well and it seems that when I do this it doesn't effect it. Am sure there is some damage in the fact that you are no leaving your own hair out but I haven't notice it in my hair yet.

The wig I believe is the less of the damage. I agree that all will do a bit of damage. Care is the secret. Condition it and care for it. Even your weekly beauty appointments will cause some damage. But if you take care of it as earlier described you'll do well. Weave, if care for can cause growth, but it must be done (not the glue) with no prolonging the time when it is time to change. Continue to enjoy your beautiful hair, so many of us wish we had. We have to have the weave, wigs and other..... Blessings!!!
