You say what you think? The question is What are you thinking? hmmmmm (469 hits)
Key Scriptures: Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
Have you ever noticed the things that you think about or focus on the most is what ends up manifesting in your life?
Think
Think about it....
If you think you will fail YOU WILL
If you think you're a loser YOU ARE
If you think you can't you won't
If you think that wonderful things only happen to other people... they do
Negative thinking is a learned behavior. The funny thing is we have been programmed to think negatively for so long that when faced with something good we automatically find the negative in it first!
What I have noticed is that children that play sports are made to think it's not about winning, but to just "go out there and have fun". To me that is underline way of playing it safe. It's like you leave room for the game to go either way because you don't want to get your hopes up. If the child loses you can then tell them "well at least you tried". That is just away of saying "you failed gracefully". What kind of thinking is that? Are we not winners?
If so then it is time to start thinking like winners Phillipians 4:13 says "I can do all things through Christ that strengths me".
HEART
What the Holy Spirit revealed to me about Proverbs 23:7 is that it starts with a thought.... So as a man think. Let's stop right there. In order for something to get deep down in your heart it has to start with a thought first! We heard the song when we were little "when I think of the goodness of Jesus and all he has done for me my soul cry's out hallelujah" There is know why your soul can cry out praises to God if you have not meditated on his goodness.
Now as I started thinking about this THINKING thing it took me over to Phillipians 4:8 where it tells us HOW and WHAT we should meditate/think on.
Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.
Now it can't get any clearer than that! Paul had given clear instruction on the type of things we should meditate/ think on. It said nothing about meditating on Lack, sickness, poverty, death, losing, etc...
As a kingdom knower not a believer we should already know that things that are not praiseworthy are not even an issue in the kingdom because there is no such thing as sorrow, lack, worry, death, poverty etc.. in the kingdom! So you aren't suppose to be able to process anything that isn't praiseworthy!
Matthew 6:31 tells us not to worry because knows what we have need us. If we just seek in FIRST the kingdom of God he'll take care of us. I looked up the word WORRY and one of the definitions of the word is "to afflict with mental distress or agitation : make anxious" Now this word goes completely against the scripture. Philippians 4:6 tells us to be anxious for nothing, but Christians seem to have the biggest issue with worry.
It is up to you to decided what you are going to meditate on. Whatever you choose be it good or bad know that it will get embedded into your heart so make the right choice. You can't expect to meditate on the negative and expect positive results.
TOUGUE:
Now as I started to get deeper in the word the holy spirit took me too
Mark 11:23-24 it tells us that we can have what we say!
Are we not living kingdom because of what we think causing us not to say the right things?
23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them
Proverbs 18:21 says "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit."
Ok now we understand that when you meditate on a thing it becomes in embedded in your heart. Once your thoughts are embedded in your heart those are the things that will come out of your mouth!
Example:
When a man meets a woman and they start to get serious he will began to think (meditate) on that women . He will start to think about how she makes him feel and how much of a wonderful person she is. Now from that point everything that he has meditated on about this women begans to be embedded in his heart. From there what its in his heart starts to come out of his mouth " man I have the most wonderful women, she is everything to me, she is so beauiful, loving, caring, etc.... Get what I am saying? The same can go for the negative thoughts.
Example:
I can't believe he isn't taking care of his kids (meditation). When you continue to replay what he ISN'T doing in your mind you get angry and bitterness sets in your heart. Then out of your mouth comes " you ain't no good, I hate him, just sorry etc..." See what happens? So now you have thought or meditated on a thing and depending on what you meditated on be it positive or negative , Good or bad it will now come out of your mouth! Be careful what you meditate on!
Thank you, I have been housebound and not had a good lesson in a while, the TV Evangelist seem to cut off in the middle, before I have had a chance to "get" the message.
