Crisis In Atlanta: Economic Hardship Affects Historic Food Bank (1709 hits)
HOSEA FEED THE HUNGRY MAKES A DESPERATE PLEA FOR DONATION OF FOOD Calls an Emergency Press Conference for appeal - 11am on July 17th, 2008
Atlanta, GA - Hosea Feed The Hungry has been seeing an increase of families this summer so much so that their food pantry has minimize days they are open to 2-3 days a week to maintain the food available. With the influx of people, Hosea Feed The Hungry may have to close down the food pantry until the fall when major food banks are able to supply their seasonal needs.
You know, Hosea Feed the Hungry should reach out to area and national media outlets, particularly community-based media outlets and co-brand events and activities. Exposure is everything. Although Americans are experiencing some final difficulties, I think we can gather resources for such a great cause. The services that the organization provides are second to none!

Love on A Two Way Street
We are community media and there was area media at the press conference. It's not the media outlet, but the viewer. Did viewers watch the coverage and think that someone somewhere would do something? African American viewers in particular being that its an historic black organization for a namesake leader, should feel ownership in doing something. Also, HFTH has co-branded events all the time. Again its all in how the African American community perceives "volunteering."
