Saving Our Youth- Who Is Really Responsible? (1257 hits)

">
This child is like a sheep being led to the slaughter house. In a few years, if proper intervention is not made, this young boy will end up as another statistic- a young black male doomed to spend the gift of life in prison. What is proper intervention? Beating him won't change the fact that he has poor impulse control- it will only harden him and teach him that he is bad. He said himself that he likes doing bad things.

The problem is a generational one of poor parenting and a lack of morals. Where are the parents that conceived this child? Why does the grandmother have guardianship?

Barack is right when he says that change is needed from the bottom up. America is losing a generation of young people because of our rebellious hearts. Wrong is becoming right as long as you have the money to afford a good attorney.

If we are so advanced as a country, why do we have such high rates of teenage pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, juvenile delinquency, obesity, depression, high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc?

The Bible says to train up a child in the way that he should go and when he is old, he will not depart. What's happened to the Judeo-Christian values this country was founded on? Perhaps we need to revisit them.

Stay Blessed!

It's truly sad to see our youth fall short of their glory and become another statistics. I totally agree, the problem is a generational one of poor parenting and a lack of morals. How do with fix this problem? Education! We need more mentoring programs, support groups for parents & kids, affordable activities for our youth etc.

This young child is bright and he just needs to put his energy into something positive. I would recommend counseling, karate, pray and some extra TLC (tender loving care). Why? Counseling will help him deal with his emotions and his family problems. Karate will help him release his anger with discipline and positive feedback. This child needs to understand he is loved and can achieve great things in life. Pray, for guidance, strength etc.

In today's society, hitting seems to be the only solution, because that's what we done for generations. We need to tap into our black history, self pride, faith etc. Our young men need to understand jail the bait for our culture to fail. We need to teach our kids how to beat the odds and achieve greatness. How to deal with peer pressure, prevent teen pregnancy, and how to have self love and values. We have a lot of single parent homes and I a firm believer it takes a village to raise a child. We need to unite and provide options and not more statistics. I have vision to help our community and I just pray that God will give me the strength and the guidance to help our community.
