BLS Commissioner's Corner Blog

Savi Swick, Supervisory Research Analyst in the Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), wrote a guest blog for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Commissioner's Corner on "Increasing Access and Opportunity: Using Quality Data to Inform Evidence-Based Policy." Swick discussed the importance of credible, consistent data in research on the employment of people with disabilities. She highlighted data collection projects that ODEP, BLS, and the U.S. Department of Labor's Chief Evaluation Office partnered on for the Current Population Survey. "Today, these data provide reliable, accurate information to a range of stakeholders on a topic of critical importance to America's families and communities," said Swick. "Most significantly, they help facilitate evidence-based policymaking at the national, state, and local levels."
