HOW NAMI MARYLAND IS A MEMBER OF BEHAVORIAL HEALTH COALITION .... YOU CAN PARTICIPATE, TOO! (1194 hits)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE! ON THURSDAY! ON THURSDAY!

NAMI Maryland is a member of the Maryland Behavioral Health Coalition. The Coalition has launched the "Faces of Behavioral Health." ((https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C4u-ITIWAAAUP8q.jpg:large). This is our way of showing broad support for a robust, properly resourced public behavioral health system by putting a face on the Keep the Door Open effort. (http://keepthedooropenmd.org/). Many passionate advocates have already joined our fight, but we need you to get involved as well!

Here's how in 3 simple steps:

1. Take a picture of yourself or another holding a sign with your first name and where you are from.

Pictures should be:
• Landscape orientation (flip that phone sideways!)

• Taken in a well-lit room. If you have the opportunity, step outside into the natural light for a more flattering shot. Do not shoot directly into the light – it’ll make the subject too difficult to see.

• Show the person’s lower chest, up to right above their head and the sign

2. Write a sentence about your connection to behavioral health treatment or services.

3. Send the picture, along with the 1-sentence statement, to Emily@thehatchergroup.com. Please be sure to include in the email a brief statement giving permission to use your photo. For example “You have my permission to use this image as part of the Keep the Door Open campaign to increase access to behavioral health treatment.”

The Keep the Door Open campaign will post your picture along with many others on social media (Twitter, Facebook) and other formats.

Thanks so much for your support! And don't forget to join us next Thursday, February 23 for the Behavioral Health Coalition Rally in Annapolis. The weather forecast is promising, so let's show our lawmakers just how important these issues are!
