HINTS FOR HOME: SPRING CLEANING DONE LIKE A BREEZE (962 hits)
COMMENTARY:
We all know Winter months can cause stuff to stack up and build up unwanted clutter. However, the best way to get that Spring done is to breeze through it and get it over. Some of us know we are worst at making stuff pile up because we don't usually throw away, but store away. Quick tips like these may help:
* If you haven't used it in past six months or more it probably needs to go.
* If it's something you have that you aren't using and you know aren't going to, give it away, or sell it!
* Throw away, or give away those things like broken machines, equipment that need repairs you have had time to fix and bought another already. Evaluate the usage repair or donate.
* If your closet is full of clothes you aren't wearing help a needy family or give to one of your favorite recycled clothing stores. Some places will pay you for fine mildly used articles of clothing, check around and find some money there.
* Have a yard sale! Or ask another person to join you in a yard sale. If there is anything left, do bring it back donate it!
* Surfaces need washing, clean with mild soap and cleaners that are easy on the earth.
* Straighten up those shelves and discard old items that have expired.
* Stacks of magazines and newspapers can be taken to recycling centers, usually they welcome donations at no cost to you!
You will find there are lots more you do that's a breeze. Get busy! Spring cleaning can be fun alone, or shared with family or a friend. Don't hold on to something that you know you can say goodbye to.
