SPRING AND SUMMER Issue

Dear Gardeners:

Okay, I'm a late bloomer for this month's issue of Dear Gardeners! I have only one excuse, it's been a bit rainy and cool and I have to catch up! "But that's two excuses isn't it!?.... This means bringing you the ideas of quick planting to make your own porch a growing garden. You will find it's quite easy with potted plants and or potted blooming plants that will last all summer long.

Selecting your plants and blooming plants starts with your trip to the garden center. Once there look for plants that give a unique flavor to your porch style. For instance, does your porch or entry way have steps, do want it to have plants with a lead way to a sitting area, or you just want an eye catcher that compliments your hours of enjoyment. Believe, it's your investment to have all of these mentioned. It's your budget, it's your imagination and it'll be all working toward your goal. Different size pots for plants will also be something to consider as well as a theme if your want all your pots to be the same. Pots can come in a decor as well and you can decorate a porch area with the same pots, with different plants and blooms. It's arranging them with a creative eye and one that's pleasing makes it beautiful for you. Small patios are great for potting with plants and decks as well. Your sitting areas outside can coordinate with your plants and furniture. There is so much to explore.

Get some ideas together before you start porch growing. Look in garden magazines, search the web for decorating ideas that are similar to your own designated area(s). Tables, chairs, cloths, rugs can be implemented to add a zesty porch that make the green cause envy to the lovely scene. However, the only green eye monster you'll see is the work of God's beautiful plant life. Gardeners who love the growth like you do give glory in the creations of the Lord. If you're not into the extra decorating, stay simple and make it work as well. I would say, I'm behind on my porch planting and growing and I have to catch up! So that means this letter has to come to an end. Got any ideas? Comment and tell me what your doing in your own gardens.

SO TELL ME
HOW DOES YOUR GARDENS GROW?
