YOUR WORLD NATIONAL/WORLD NEWS DAY 19 APRIL 2016 Baltimore, MD Washington, DC
DESTINY WATFORD
This name may not be known in every household, but in Baltimore this name may ring and sing among those who know of her recent reward of work done in the saving the environment and aiding in keeping a manufacturing company from doing harm to the air in her nearby community and school. After some four years Destiny's work shared with others lead her to continue the drive of keeping a trash burning incineration factory from being opened less than a mile from where she attended school.
Destiny's main goal was to save lives and taking on a challenge that seemed difficult she was willing to take lead. She looked for ways that could avoid the factory operations which could do much harm by releasing air pollution and toxins. Though she often may have been faced with opposition, the teen focused on having a voice to make a difference. She became a member of the Free Your Voice Human Rights activists to keep the factory from opening. Her hard earn grass roots work was finally successful in keeping the factory from opening it's operation and led her to her destiny of winning a wonderful reward of recognition.
On August 20, 2016 Destiny Watford was one of six people world wide to receive one of the highest honors given by The Goldman Environmental Foundation which one of the world's largest grass root activists group. In March 2016 the government of Maryland declared the factory's permit for operation was invalid.
Destiny will part of the award ceremony on August 20, 2016 at The Ronald Reagan Building International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. at 7:30 p.m.
