The United Kingdom remembers the world's war dead and also remembers those who fought wars. In the United Kingdom Armistice Day celebrated with two minutes of silence at the 11th hour on November 11. It was the time the in when the guns went silent in Europe. Large crowds gathered to partake in the ceremony of the two minute of Royal's British Legion silence in the Square. Along with celebration poppy petals were released in Liverpool and members of the London Community Gospel Choir at the Trafalgar Fountain in the Square.
Many watched the event on big screen televisions, as thousands came to be part of Armistice Day.
In the United States, many will also celebrate Veteran's Day and many federal and local business will close. In addition, many towns and cities are offering Veterans free meals and compliments for their time spent in wars.
