Election Day...

THE A.C. WAS OUT BUT, THE STRICKLAND WAS ABOUT THE CURRENTS

October 08, 2015

Memphis, TN

The voting polls were opened in the election begin to vote for a mayor. A.C. Wharton the current mayor was charged out by the voter's choice of Jim Strickland. This ended the second term for A.C. Wharton who had his light signal on being in the Mayor's seat once more. However, with all the votes counted, A.C. was out! The 24 years of having a Black Mayor running Memphis came to it's end for at least for now. Although the race was not about race, of Black and White Strickland had promises that favored Memphisans which gave him the largest vote.

It's been some time since the Mayor's office had a White mayor....but everything has a season...I guess? The Strickland currents are ready to plug in. We congratulate the new mayor and thank A.C. for his years of great electricity moments...

Hernando, MS

October 11, 2015

Mayor of Hernado, Mississippi has been selected to participate in a panel discussion with the 2016 presidental candidates in New Hampshire on Monday, October 12, 2015. Johnson is the only representative from the Mid South area. The No Lables Group as they are called is part of the Problem Solver Convention. "Making the nation's energy secure, sounds like ele-tri-city to me. I reckon so!

MID SOUTH FAIR

BROKE A RECORD

OF ATTENDANCE

WITH 100,000 PEOPLE

THAT WENT!

Desoto County, MS

October 11, 2015

The Mid-South Fair put out the power this year in breaking records. Accounts showed that at least 100,000 people attended the fair!. The Mid South Fair had's its power run from September 25 through October 04, 2015. The Fair's President Michael Doyle said on Friday that it was a 12 percent increase from last year. Additionally, it was a record breaking first since 2009 when the fair moved from Memphis to Mississippi. Mr. Doyle also was pleased with the diversity and on Sunday, two predominantly African-American congregations brought the fair another elected highlight hosting a service at the fair ending on Sunday. That gave a charge to it becoming an annual event at the fair grounds. Organizers are hopeful that next year's attendance will be as great as the 2016 year and are planning to find a larger ground, but presently the Lander's Center will be home for at least four more years.

"Well, that was quite a large elected number of folks going to the fair!" Fairs are fun, Memphis may be a bit fizzled .....they let the Mid South Fair move to Mississippi, but it's only a few minutes drive to the Lander's Center. Memphis is surrounded by the "Tri-city." "They sometimes call it light, gas and robbery..." Duu..gh...but I didn't make that slogan up! I want my elec-tri-city to stay on folks!! Lol!!

I have no more stores this time, but
